Loic Remy has joined Newcastle United on a season-long loan from Queens Park Rangers.
The French international striker scored six goals in 14 appearancesfor the R's last term, having joined them from Marseille at the turn ofthe year.
Twenty-six-year-old Remy will now ply his trade on Tyneside for the2013/14 campaign, and said: "I'm very happy to be a Newcastle player.
"It will be a huge honour to play for such a big club. I was veryflattered by the Club's interest in me back in January and also veryhappy that they showed interest in me again this summer.
"The Premier League is the best league in the world and that's where I want to play.
"I am very motivated this year to get into the World Cup squad for mycountry. I know in order to do that I need to have a big season and asuccessful campaign with Newcastle United.
"I am focussed on helping the team achieve success this season and scoring as many goals as I can."
Newcastle United's director of football, Joe Kinnear, added: "Theneed for us to strengthen up front was a priority and I have beenworking very hard to secure one of our targets in this position.
"I'm delighted to have secured Loic for the season. Now we have himI'm sure he'll be a huge success for us; I know he's hungry for goalsand is absolutely committed to helping us achieve success this season."
Manager Alan Pardew said: "Loic is a great player and I'm delighted that Joe has got him on board for us.
"He'll be a great addition to the squad, he gives us strength and pace up front and I'm sure he'll bring plenty of goals.
"It's a big season for Loic, like it is for all our internationalplayers ahead of the World Cup, which will only provide extra incentivefor him to play at the very top of his game."

其實 QPR offer 左個 cut-price 6.8m 出黎，但係都無人問津，主要因為 remy 仲有單強姦官司在身，如果入罪的話就要坐監，6.8m 就等於掟落咸水海……

所以而家紐卡素就諗縮數想先借用，到時如果真係有事都唔會入肉……

QPR boss Harry Redknapp says any club wanting to take Loic Remy on loan will need to stump up £2m.

Newcastle are currently in talks with the west London side over a temporary deal for the centre forward, who joined the Hoops in January for £8m.

But the prospective move could grind to a standstill if the Magpies hierarchy are not willing to fork out a quarter of Remy’s transfer fee for a one-year loan.

‘He’s a player who’s going on loan,’ said Redknapp.

‘If you were buying Loic Remy for £8million, which there were clubs to buy him for, if you gave him a four-year contract and he ran that down and was a free agent, he’d cost you £2million a year.

‘If somebody wants to loan him they’d be entitled to pay £2million for him.’

It is evident QPR are keen to get the Frenchman off the wage bill with the club having dropped into the Championship, with Redknapp having issued a clear message to top-flight sides that Remy is not required at Loftus Road this term.

‘They would be getting a striker that would be getting 15-20 goals next year in the Premier League,’ he added ahead of QPR’s season opener against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.

‘He is a top class player.

‘He could play for anybody in the Premier in my opinion.’

QPR striker Loic Remy will undergo a medical at Newcastle on Monday ahead of a proposed loan move, according to Sky sources.

The Frenchman was left out of QPR's squad to face Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend and is now poised to seal a return to the Premier League on a season-long deal.

Newcastle are desperate to add firepower ahead of the new campaign but had been warned by R's boss Harry Redknapp they would have to stump up £2m to borrow a player that cost £8m in January.

"We paid about £8m for him, so if someone wants to loan him for a year, we are entitled to get £2m a year for him," Redknapp said.

"Make no mistake, he will get between 15 and 20 goals next season if he goes to a Premier League club. He is a top-class player - a player for any club in the Premier League in my opinion."

A deal for Remy, who scored six goals in 14 appearances for the Loftus Road club, would represent a crucial breakthrough for the Magpies' under-fire director of football, Joe Kinnear.

Kinnear is still locked in talks with Lyon over another striker, Bafetimbi Gomis, and sought this weekend to reassure fans awaiting a first summer arrival that he was not "dragging his heels" in the transfer market
