LIVERPOOL have beaten their bitter rivals Everton to the signing of Granada star Guilherme Siqueira.
According to reports on Merseyside,
Brendan Rodgers has identified the 27-year-old as the remedy for the club's current left-back problems.Jose Enrique is the only senior player available to fill the position, having let youngster Jack Robinson leave on a season-long-loan to Blackpool earlier in the summer.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move throughout July and now look likely to complete a deal worth around £5m for the former Inter Milan man.And the Premier League side will have no problem securing a work permit as Siqueira claims dual Italian and Brazilian citizenship.
Rodgers has hinted the club haven't finished their hunt for players, revealing last week:"I am confident that we will add to the team.
"I don’t think there is any doubt we need that.
"The players we have brought in have added great depth and support to the team, but that bit of quality now coming into the group could really set us up.”
