Cisse WILL wear Wonga shirt after Muslim striker and Newcastle reach agreement Papiss Cisse will wear Newcastle's new kit despite pay-day loan company Wonga being the shirt's sponsor.
The Muslim striker was at loggerheads with the club over their new sponsor and had refused to wear the shirt because the lending of money is forbidden under Sharia Law.
But the Senegal star has now agreed to wear the shirt despite his reservations.
Cisse, 28, has missed out on Newcastle's pre-season preparations in Portugal because of his stance is now prepared to join the squad to ready himself for next season.
He has been in delicate talks with the North-East club for the past few days and the two parties have finally reached an agreement.
A picture emerged earlier this week of what appeared to be the former Freiburg forward gambling at a blackjack table in a casino. As well as the lending of money, gambling is also prohibited under Sharia Law.
Cisse, who netted 13 times for Alan Pardew's side last season, signed from Freiburg £9million in January 2012.
