Real Madrid close to signing Kovacic



Real Madrid are close to finalising a deal with Inter Milan for Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic. Talks are ongoing and a deal looks to be on the cards as the two clubs try to agree a final transfer fee for the player.
There was initially a ?10m difference between Inter's asking price and Los Blancos's offer, but on Monday there was talk of a deal worth around ?28m plus ?5m in add-ons.
The La Liga club is keen to present him to fans this very Wednesday.
Real Madrid have already agreed personal terms with Kovacic and a deal should go through as soon as these final loose ends have been tied up. The midfielder has agreed a five-year deal worth ?2.5m per season.
Real Madrid hope that their latest offer will convince Inter to drop their asking price to ?35m and allow Kovacic to join the Bernabéu club as soon as possible.

And Balague has gone on to say Mateo Kovacic's move from Inter Milan to Real Madrid is all-but complete.

"Kovacic, 21-year-old, right midfielder, ?30million. His position is a bit of an enigma, he will be a replacement for (Luka) Modric and (Toni) Kroos. Holding midfielder still needed," he said on Twitter.

So Balague thinks Real need to add a holding midfielder to their squad this summer. It remains to be seen whether they take his advice or chose not?

Real Madrid C. F. and Inter Milan have agreed to the transfer of Mateo Kovačić, he will remain at the club for the next six seasons.

The player will be presented tomorrow, Wednessay 19 August at 1pm, in the presidential box at the Santiago Bernabéu, after undergoing a medical.

Afterwards, Mateo Kovačić will step out onto the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu for the first time wearing the Real Madrid shirt and talk to the media in the press room.
