Fulham’s Burn loaned to Birmingham3 July 2013 Fulham have confirmed that young defender Dan Burn has joined Birmingham on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old, who spent last term at Yeovil, has also signed a contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2015.
Born in Blyth, Burn joined Fulham from Darlington in 2011 and was a loanee in the Yeovil side that won promotion to the Championship last season, after beating Brentford in the play-off final - a game in which he scored.
The defender has also signed a new two-year contract with Martin Jol's side and is hopeful that a season at a higher level can result in his ultimate goal, a spot in Fulham's first team.
"I was really excited to sign a new deal. I had a season on loan last season and was hoping that a new contract would come in the summer as my target is still to play in the Barclays Premier League with Fulham, which gives me a couple more years to achieve that aim," Burn told Fulham's official website.
Burn added that he was looking forward to playing under former Fulham and Newcastle midfielder Lee Clark.
"Lee was a big factor as he used to play for Newcastle United as well (as Fulham) and I used to watch him play with my dad," the defender added.
"I spoke to him and he sounded really confident with what he wants to do - he wants to build a young team that is hungry for success and will work hard for each other.
"Fulham wanted me to progress and learn from different coaches and different players, so it will be a great experience."
Birmingham have also confirmed the signing of 26-year-old striker Matt Green from League Two newcomers Mansfield.
