Sergio Aguero has revealed he aims to leave Manchester City at the end of his contract in 2019 to re-join Independiente. The City striker, who has 116 goals in 176 games for the club having moved from Atletico Madrid in 2011, cut his teeth at Independiente, and made his debut with the club as a 15-year-old. And the Argentina international, who turns 28 in June, says he wants to return to his childhood club at the age of 31 "if everything goes well".
In an interview with French football magazine So Foot, Aguero said: "I have always said that I want to return to Independiente and I will do just that. "I will return to Independiente when my contract with City expires. "I do not want to make my comeback when I am too old. If everything goes well, I will return to the club of my heart at the age of 31."
Aguero was part of the youth set up at Independiente, the 16-time Argentine champions, since the age of nine, and scored 23 goals in 56 appearances before a move to Atletico in 2006.
The 27-year-old is currently City's top scorer, with nine goals this season in all competitions.
