GERVINHO 'SAYS HIS GOODBYES'

Ivory Coast striker Gervinho has moved a step closer to leaving Roma after saying farewell to team-mates ahead of his proposed move to Chinese side Hebei Fortune, reports revealed on Monday.

Speaking ahead of Roma’s last outing – a 1-0 defeat to Serie A champions Juventus – Giallorossi sporting director Mauro Baldissoni confirmed Gervinho had asked for a transfer.

"I can confirm we're currently in talks, we've received interesting offers and when a player wants to leave the club there's little you can do," Baldissoni said.

"It could be settled very quickly."

Crystal Palace are rivalling West Ham to sign Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike, Sky sources understand.

Sky Sports News HQ reported last week that the Hammers had made an offer to take the 28-year-old on loan with the view to a permanent transfer in the summer.

Sky sources claimed the deal had hit a snag late last week and it is understood that snag is the interest from Palace.

SWANSEA EYE GAYLE

Swansea are leading the fight to land striker Dwight Gayle from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, according to Sky sources. The deal is expected to prompt the departure of former Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis from the Liberty Stadium.

Palace broke their club record when they brought Gayle to Selhurst Park from Peterborough for £6m in July 2013.

But Palace are unlikely to allow the 26-year-old leave on the cheap if he decides to move on in the January transfer window.
