Arsenal sign Spain midfielder Santi Cazorla






Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that Spain internationalSanti Cazorla has joined the Club on a long-term contract.

Santi Cazorla - full name Santiago Cazorla González - joins Arsenal foran undisclosed fee from Malaga. He was a key part of the Malaga sidewhich finished fourth in La Liga last season, qualifying for the UEFAChampions League for the first time in the club's history.

Cazorla, a versatile 27-year-old attacking midfielder, has made a totalof 45 appearances for Spain and was a member of his country's victorioussquads at the European Championship in 2008 and 2012.

Before joining Malaga in 2011, Cazorla spent two spells at Villarreal,making 181 appearances and helping 'the Yellow Submarine' finishrunners-up in La Liga in 2008. In between these spells, he spent
the 2006/07 season in La Liga on loan at Recreativo. Cazorla spent theearly part of his career at youth level with Spanish side Oviedo.

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said: "Santi Cazorla is a great signingfor us. He is a player with good experience at both club andinternational level, who will add significant quality to our squad.

"He is a versatile, attacking midfield player who can play comfortablyon either side of the pitch or centrally. He has good pace, istechnically gifted and will be a huge asset to Arsenal Football Club.
We are delighted that he is joining us."

Cazorla, who was voted Spanish Player of the Year in 2007, said: "I'm sohappy to be joining Arsenal. This is a club with great players, afantastic stadium and huge support.
"The Club has one of the best managers in football and their style of play is recognised and admired all over the world.
"I'm so excited to be joining one of the greatest teams in Europe andalso in the Premier League. I will do my best to help Arsenal challengefor trophies and make all the supporters happy."

Everyone welcomes Santi to the Club, his squad number will be confirmed in due course.

AND Walcott has reportedly agreed a 4 year contract worth 85k per week, expected to announce it within the two weeks.

The new deal would keep the Englishman at the club until 2016, after many reports he would leave the club for a move to Liverpool or Chelsea.

Wenger rules out M'Vila move

Arsene Wenger insists he is not looking to sign Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila, but admits any injury setbacks during the summer may lead him to reconsider his options.

The Gunners have been persistently linked with a move for M'Vila, but Wenger has no concrete plans to sign the 22-year-old France international as he feels he has strength in depth in the midfield department.

However, the situation could change depending on what happens this summer and in the recoveries of Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby from their long-term injuries.

"No [I am not interested in M'Vila]. We wait on Diaby and Wilshere," Wenger told the club's official website, www.arsenal.com.

"When you look we have Alex Song, Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin, Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Diaby.

"In defensive midfielders and box-to-box players we are not short if they are all coming back.

"If we have setbacks in pre-season it could be different."
