Everton agree deal to sign Moise Kean from Juventus for initial £29m

Everton have a concluded a deal with Juventus to sign Moise Kean for an initial ?32m (£29m) and the forward is due to fly to England on Wednesday to finalise the move.

The signing of the 19-year-old Italy international would be a significant coup for Everton, who have also sold midfielder Idrissa Gueye to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee understood to be ?32m.

Everton could end up paying ?40m for Kean with add-ons and have agreed to pay him £2.75m a year. The player, who had one year remaining on his contract, scored six Serie A goals in 13 appearances last season and has played three times for Italy.

Marco Silva had hoped to keep Gueye at Goodison Park this season but the player was determined to join the French champions. “I wanted to give a new boost to my club career by joining Paris St-Germain, one of the most structured and ambitious sports projects in Europe,” Gueye told his new club’s website.

Everton have made a substantial profit on the 29-year-old Gueye, who signed from Aston Villa for £8m in 2016. The Senegal international has previously played in France for Lille from 2008-15.

The deal was reached on the basis of ?30 million, but more details are expected for the final figure which could reach ?40 million including bonuses. Kean will receive an annual salary of 3 million after taxes. As part of the deal, the clubs are expected to give Juventus priority should Kean be sold in the future.

Moise Kean has signed for Everton from Juventus for an undisclosed fee, agreeing a five-year deal until the end of June 2024.

The 19-year-old Italy international striker – regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Europe – becomes the Blues’ fifth summer signing after midfielders Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin and keeper Jonas Lössl.

Kean says he is honoured to join Everton and wants to bring his winning attitude to a club that matches his ambition.

“I am very proud and honoured to wear the Everton shirt. I will give my best to this team,” Kean told evertontv.

“I was convinced to sign because Everton is a club looking to the future and so am I. I know about the size of the Club. It has big ambition and I will work very hard to help us fulfil what we want to achieve.

“I am used to winning and I want to bring this winning attitude to the team. I hope I will be very good on the field and bring the fans joy.”

There’s no buy back clause in Kean deal, but Juve has right to match any offer should Everton sell him in the future
