Jack Grealish poised for England call-up after committing to Three Lions - reports Jack Grealish could be on the verge of an England call-up after opting to play for the Three Lions, according to reports. Roy Hodgson has made enquiries about including the Aston Villa midfielder for the Euro 2016 qualifiers with Estonia and Lithuania when he names his squad on Thursday.Grealish has been at the centre of a tug-of-war between England and the Republic of Ireland, who he has already represented at under-21 level. The 20-year-old qualifies through grandparents to play for Ireland, but Hodgson has been trying to persuade the Birmingham-born young gun to represent England.
And it is believed Grealish has chosen to play for his country of birth, although Mirror Sport understands the FA face a race against time to get him registered for next month's qualifiers.
The Three Lions need to get FIFA clearance and that may not come through in time.
Meanwhile, Tim Sherwood has revealed he wouldn't sell Grealish for £60million.
“I wouldn’t want to sell Jack Grealish for £60million today put it that way," Sherwood replied when asked how much his young charge is worth. “I know what he could possibly be.
“What looks expensive this year might not be expensive next year. That’s the way the game is going.
“He’s a great player is Jack, but he’s got to realise – I’ve been on at him every day – there is more to the game than just when you’re in possession.
“That Liverpool game was huge with a lot of expectancy and pressure, it didn’t faze him, he grew more.
“He is certainly a type of player we have seen at the very top level for the likes of Liverpool and in the past for Aston Villa, we have to recognise that.
“He’s not shop window job, he’s our player, and we couldn’t put a price on him. I certainly wouldn't.”
