A late Willian free kick got Chelsea back on the winning track after a 2-1 defeat of Dynamo Kiev at Stamford Bridge in Champions League action on Wednesday.
Eden Hazard was left on the bench by Jose Mourinho after struggling to find his best form this season, while Cesc Fabregas -- dropped for Saturday's 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool -- was restored to the starting XI for his 100th career European appearance.
Chelsea's opener came with some help in the 34th minute, when Willian's whipped-in cross was redirected by defender Aleksandar Dragovic into the Dynamo net.
Diego Costa then had a penalty shout late in the half after going down in the box while being accompanied by a pair of Dynamo defenders, but referee Pavel Kralovec waved play-on.
Chelsea came close on a handful of a occasions in the second period, but it was Dynamo who came up with a well-earned equaliser in the 78th minute.
Dragovic made up for his earlier gaffe with a lashed right-footed shot from just outside the six-yard box following a corner kick.
But it was Willian who settled the score seven minutes from time. His exquisite curled effort travelling over the Dynamo wall before nestling into Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's near post.
The win gives Jose Mourinho's men seven points in Group G, three points behind leaders Porto and two above third-placed Dynamo.
The Blues next face Maccabi Tel-Aviv, who lost 2-0 to Porto on Wednesday, in their penultimate group stage game on Nov. 24.
