Loan Deal Secured For Kakuta
Bolton Wanderers have confirmed a deal to bring Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta to the Reebok Stadium on loan.
The Frenchman moves to Bolton on a six-month deal and will link-up with his new team-mates following the international break.
"I'm delighted that Chelsea have enabled us to take Gael on loan and I'd like to thank Andre and the club for that," said manager Owen Coyle.
"He is someone whose progress we have tracked since he first broke into the Chelsea first team a couple of years ago. He is skilful, quick, exciting to watch and I'm really looking forward to working with him."
Kakuta, who has represented France at every level between the Under-16s and Under-20s, moved to England in 2007 after spending his youth career with Lens in France. During his first year with Chelsea, he scooped the club's Academy Player of the Year award.
Having progressed through to the Chelsea first team in 2009, Kakuta played in a handful of games during his debut season. More appearances beckoned last season when the left-footer featured heavily in Chelsea's plans during the opening months of the campaign.
Kakuta made a total of 12 appearances, five of which were made in the Group Stage of the Champions League as Chelsea qualified for the knock-out stages of the competition by registering 15 points from 18 available.
Kakuta scored the first goal of his professional career against Sunderland in April whilst on loan with Fulham.
The 20-year-old spent the second-half of 2010/11 at Craven Cottage, making a total of seven appearances in all competitions.
