Filipe Luis: Jose Mourinho says Chelsea left-back set to leave

Left-back Filipe Luis is close to leaving Chelsea after one year at the club, according to boss Jose Mourinho.
The Brazil international, 29, has made 26 appearances for the Blues since joining from Atletico Madrid for £15.8m last summer but the two clubs have been in talks about a return move.
Mourinho said: "In this moment we need a left-back because I think we are selling Filipe Luis now or tomorrow."
Chelsea have been linked with Augsburg left-back Abdul Baba Rahman, 21.
Mourinho, who led Chelsea to last season's Premier League title, added they are only planning to sign players if others leave Stamford Bridge.
"At the moment we don't want players. It's simple," he said.
"We must be ready because it looks like the market is open, and there is always a risk somebody comes for one of our players or one of our players shows an interest in leaving."

Marca and AS are reporting that Chelsea defender Filipe Luis has returned to Atletico Madrid for a fee of 16m euros.

Luis, who joined Chelsea only last summer, 26 games for the Blues in their title-winning campaign.

LUIS' ATLETICO RETURN STALLS?

Filipe Luis’ return to Atletico Madrid has stalled after Chelsea increased their asking price for the defender, reports AS.

Sky sources reported earlier this week that the Brazilian was in line to re-join Atletico after Chelsea agreed to sell the full-back for a fee of around £15million.

The player subsequently travelled to Madrid, where he has already undergone his medical, and both he and the Spanish club have spent the past two days waiting for the green light from Chelsea to finalise the deal.

However, according to AS, Chelsea suddenly demanded more money on Friday night, placing doubts over the deal.

Atletico reminded Chelsea that the two clubs had already struck an earlier agreement, but they have also informed Luis that he will have to return to London if the issue is not resolved.

Chelsea sell Felipe Luis to Atletico Madrid

Chelsea have announced the sale of defender Filipe Luis to the club they bought him from - Atletico Madrid.

The Brazilian spent just one season at Stamford Bridge after joining the Blues for a fee in the region of £16m. Sky sources reported last week that Atletico are paying around £15m to bring him back

Luis made his debut as a substitute in the 6-3 win against Everton last August and made his first start against Schalke in the Champions League before going on to win the Premier League and Capital One Cup.

The 29-year-old has agreed to rejoin Atletico on a four-year contract.

He made 26 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring one goal, in a Capital One Cup win at Derby.

Of his 26 appearances for Chelsea, only nine of them were starts in the Premier League as he struggled to displace Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back.

"We wish him all the best for the future," a club statement read.
