Robin van Persie uncertain of Manchester United future



Robin van Persie has admitted that he must "evaluate the situation" at Manchester United as he faces the prospect of playing back-up at Old Trafford.

The 31-year-old, who has just over a year left on his contract at United, endured a difficult season with injuries and scored 10 goals as his side finished fourth to qualify for the Champions League.

The Dutchman says he still wants to play first-team football and has also taken Holland’s potential participation in the European Championships in France next summer into consideration as he thinks about his future.

He said: "I must evaluate the situation. The club is doing that as well. I must consider what I really want.

"If worse comes to the worst and I won't be playing much next season, I wouldn't be in an ideal situation with Euro 2016 coming up.

"It's a strange, difficult situation. A new situation, that's a better word. I have to think in a realistic way. It's my ambition to play the next years."

Van Persie also said his family's happiness would play a major role in his thinking as he weighs up his next move, with his wife and children settled in Manchester.

He added: "I'm thinking about my family and my children with every decision I take. These are very important for me.

"I'm a real family guy. I think it's fantastic to see how happy my children and wife are. That's something I take into consideration when I'm thinking about my future."

However, van Persie said there was no definitive news regarding his future as rumours continue to circulate around United’s search for a new striker after Radamel Falcao returned to Monaco.

He added: "If I am to believe the stories, around 35 new strikers will be coming in and 40 will be leaving but I have no news regarding my future."

Van Persie said he should have had six or seven more goals than the tally of 10 he scored for the club last season.

"People don't accept that I just scored 10," he added. "Actually that's a compliment because they expect more of me on the basis of what I can do. I was the club's second highest goal scorer together with Juan Mata and behind Wayne Rooney (14 goals).

"It's not good that a top club like Manchester United does not have a scorer with 20 or more goals behind his name each season and that is why we only finished fourth."

Van Persie struggled with an ankle injury through the season, blaming a hectic pre-World Cup training programme, as he battled to get fit for Brazil, and then a lack of a break after the tournament last summer.

"After I came back from injury, I realised that I would not automatically get back in the starting line-up," he said. "But I didn't have a problem with that because they were playing well at the time.

"These things happen. We are living in an adult world. Louis van Gaal is not the coach of Robin van Persie, but of Manchester United with 25 in the squad."

Reports linking Robin van Persie with a move to Lazio were given short shrift by the club's president.

Rome daily newspaper Il Messaggero linked the player with a move on Friday, and there was much speculation on social media on Saturday when pictures circulated of the Manchester United forward in Rome.

One image showed the striker having a selfie at Fiumicino airport, while in another he was eating out in the city.

With Louis van Gaal targeting another striker as he looks to prepare his team for next season, Van Persie may have to leave Old Trafford if he wants regular first-team football.

But any talk of a move to Lazio seem to be premature, judging by club president Claudio Lotito.

"Van Persie? Haven’t you figured this out yet?” Goal report him as saying.

“It’s all rubbish! Total bull! (Agent Vincenzo) Morabito is the one trying to spread these rumours.”

Robin van Persie suggests interest in move to Juventus from Man Utd

Robin van Persie does not want to become a super-sub at Manchester United and has dropped a hint he would have interest a move to Juventus.

Van Persie revealed he is still in touch with former United team-mate Patrice Evra, who was in the Juventus starting line-up when they lost the Champions League final against Barcelona on Saturday.

The 31-year-old is looking for assurances from boss Louis van Gaal that he will not be reduced to an impact role off the bench next season, a similar type of role to the one that frustrated loan signing Radamel Falcao in 2014-15.

Falcao will not be back at Old Trafford next season and United have been linked with a number of strikers, the most recent Real Madrid's Karim Benzema who, according to reports in Spain, could be part of a deal that takes goalkeeper David de Gea to the Bernabeu.

Interest in Van Persie, if he becomes avaiable, would be high but the Dutchman says he would have an interest in a move to Turin, with Evra having promised their training methods would give him a new lease on life.

Van Persie told the Sunday Mirror: "I still speak to my old mate Patrice.

"He has told me stories about how Juventus train, how hard they work and how they manage to be successful.

"They have a fantastic spirit – a totally different approach from English or Dutch players before games. They grab each other by the head, they shout at each other to pump each other up.

"And they also have big running sessions after games. Patrice has showed me there are many ways to be successful."

Van Persie expects plenty of movement in and out of the United squad this summer and he admits their transfer business could go a long way to deciding his own future.

He is keen to keep hold of his starting place in the Netherlands side ahead of next summer's European Championship and feels spending a lot of time on the bench would be of no help to him.

Van Persie added: "It is my ambition to play as many games as possible. I'm fitter than ever and I know the more games I play, the more it will help me prepare for the European Championships.

"You want to arrive at tournaments with match time, not as a bench sitter.

"I know that when you are at a club like Manchester United – it is like a beast. It is so big and strong it can do wonderful things for you, but it also has a negative side and that is what I have got to decide on this summer.

"United spent £200m on players last year and they are going to spend another £200m this summer so we will have a team that can compete for the title.

"I'll have to take everything into consideration when I decide on my future. I have to be realistic about the situation."

雲賀當其後更說：「尹佩斯正在困難處境，他要向外說自己想留隊，我對此很明白，但另一方面卻感覺到曼聯想出售他。當然英超、西甲或德甲的大球會是他的較好選擇，除非他意識到兩間球會秘密地進行了交易。現在正是受壓的時刻，如果曼聯已與其他球會達成協議，球員就會焗走，所以現時是關鍵時刻。」雲賀當更認同其中一間其效力過的舊會費倫巴治有興趣購入尹佩斯，但很可惜土超不是歐洲頂級的聯賽。

The Guardian is reporting that Robin van Persie has agreed a deal 'in principle' with Fenerbahce and is set to sign a four-year contract with the Turkish club.

It is claimed that a fee still needs to be agreed with Manchester United for the Dutchman.

Van Persie has one year to run on his contract at Old Trafford, but faces an uncertain future with Louis van Gaal looking to reshape his attack.
