Blackpool have released 11 players following their relegation from the Premier League and triggered options on the contracts of seven others including captain Charlie Adam.
The players leaving the club are goalkeepers
Richard Kingson and
Paul Rachubka, defenders
David Carney,
Danny Coid,
Rob Edwards and
Salaheddine Sbai, midfielders
Andy Reid,
Malaury Martin and
Ishmel Demontagnac, and strikers
Marlon Harewood and
Jason Euell.
Meanwhile
the Seasiders have activated a clause in Adam's contract which in theory gives him another 12 months at Bloomfield Road, but it is unlikely to prevent the Scotland midfielder moving in the summer.
The 25-year-old was the subject of failed bids by Liverpool and Tottenham in January - Liverpool offered £6 million - and now Ian Holloway's side have been relegated, it seems inevitable he will leave.
Twelve-month options have also been taken out on Keith Southern, Neal Eardley, Ian Evatt, Billy Clarke, Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Louis Almond.The club have offered new contracts to goalkeeper Matt Gilks, left-back Stephen Crainey, midfielder David Vaughan, striker Brett Ormerod and youngsters Mark Halstead and Ash Eastham.
