Agentine playmaker Javier Pastore is being targetted by three Premier League sides, according to Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini.

While Zamparini has previously said that Pastore - currently with Argentina competing in the Copa America - will not be allowed to leave for below £45 million, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea reportedly hold an interest in the midfielder.

"The situation of (Javier) Pastore is in the hands of his agent. We must solve it within 15 days, before the end of the Copa America, otherwise Pastore stays with us," Zamparini told Gr Parlamento.

"However, there's a 90% chance that he'll go away, because it is the desire of the player. That is normal when you know that certain clubs want you."

He added: "Pastore will go to England or Spain, but I'd exclude Barcelona, because they already have (Andres) Iniesta and Xavi in that position.

"The favourites are Real Madrid and Malaga.
Manchester City are also interested in him, as well as Manchester United and Chelsea.
I'm sorry to let him go, because he is the only world-beater that I have had (at the club) as president."

Pastore currently has eight Argentina caps and is one of the most sought-after players in Europe, although he is not expected to sign for another Italian side.

Papers: Sanchez deal still alive
04/07/2011 09:03
Journalists in The Mirror write...

United still hopeful of signing Sanchez
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to sign top target Alexis Sanchez – if rivals Barcelona grab Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal. Ferguson and the United money men have refused to budge on a £28million offer to Udinese for Chilean star Sanchez – but their dream of signing the South American could get a double boost this week. Barca’s “final” bid for Sanchez is £24m plus an extra £10m in appearances, a package that has yet to be accepted by the Italian club – with United’s offer a greater amount in guaranteed cash. And amazingly the £10m add-ons are based on Sanchez playing in 50 per cent of games in the next four seasons – money that may never come. The Champions League winners are at full stretch financially and that offer will not be increased, and could even be withdrawn, if they land Gunners skipper Fabregas in the next few days.

Elsewhere, the same paper suggests Stoke manager Tony Pulis is keen on landing John O'Shea and Wes Brown. Both players have already been the subject of a bid from Sunderland this summer, but Pulis hopes a move closer to Manchester would be more appealing.

Tevez: I want to leave Manchester City

Carlos Tevez has once again asked to leave Manchester City.

Following a January stand-off with the club, Tevez now says he is finished with life at Eastlands, and followed up some recent complaints about Manchester life with a statement that his family life is the reason behind his desire to quit.

Currently at the Copa America with Argentina, Tevez, 27, says he spoke to City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak to explain his decision.

"It is with great regret that I have to inform Manchester City of my wish to leave the club. I would like to state that I have great respect for the club, its supporters and the owner, Sheik Mansoor, who has been nothing other than respectful to me," he told the Daily Mail.

"I hope that the people understand the difficult circumstances I have been living under the past 12 months, in regards to my family.

"Living without my children in Manchester has been incredibly challenging for me. Everything I do, I do for my daughters, Katie and Florencia. I need to be closer to them and to spend more time with them. I need them to be happy because my life is about them now. I need to be in a place where they can adapt.

"Being captain of Manchester City, qualifying for the Champions League, winning the FA Cup and finishing as top-scorer last season has made me very proud.

"I hope that most of the City fans will understand that I have given them my all on the pitch and that my dedication to the city cause has been 100 per cent on the pitch.

"I hope I have done my bit to help City continue their progress towards their ambition to be champions of England and to advance in the Champions League. I have no doubt that the players and management of City will achieve great success in the future."

Despite that desire to leave Eastlands, Tevez looks short of suitors. His move to City is said to have cost the club £45 million, and they wish to gain a significant return on that investment.

Links with Real Madrid have gone cold of late, as has Juventus' interest and a recently-mooted swap with Inter Milan's Samuel Eto'o has also hit the skids.

West Bromwich Albion are ready to rekindle their attempts to sign Andy Johnson and head off interest from Leicester and Queens Park Rangers.

Roy Hodgson is a long-term admirer of the former England striker and Johnson relished the time he spent working with West Brom’s manager at Fulham.
The 30-year-old cost Fulham more than £10.5m when he joined from Everton in August 2008 but Albion would be hoping to sign him for a knockdown fee, as he only has 12 months on his contract left.

Leicester would be prepared to offer Johnson £40,000 per week if he is willing to drop down to the Championship. The chance to work with Hodgson again, though, is likely to prove decisive.
West Brom are also hopeful of bringing free agent David Vaughan to the Hawthorns from Blackpool.
