Wolfsburg join race for Juventus' Amauri - report

It seems Italian reluctance to spend the money on forward has seen the Bundesliga club make up ground in their pursuit for him, a report suggests

Amauri's future could lie in Germany as Wolfsburg are the latest in a long list of teams to be linked with a move for the out-of-favour Juventus striker.

Sky Sport Italia reports the lower Saxony side are eager to strengthen their front line after signing Liverpool centre-back Sotirios Kyrgiakos, and Trabzonspor left-back Hrvoje Cale on Monday.

And all eyes are on the 31-year-old Italo-Brazilian who has been associated with several Serie A clubs this summer, all of whom appear to have baulked at his ?4 million per annum wage demands.

Parma recently claimed a move for Amauri was unlikely, while Palermo, Napoli and Genoa have all seen their interest fizzle out after making initial enquiries.

Amauri has been told he is no longer part of the plans in Turin, and while he would prefer a stay in Serie A, a concrete Wolfsburg offer could tip the scales towards Bundesliga action.

It is said the player's agent will meet Juventus directors on Tuesday morning to find a solution with a week left before the transfer window breaks off for this year.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish wants to replace Sotirios Kyrgiakos with Nacional defender Sebastian Coates, according to the Telegraph.

The Greek defender signed for Wolfsburg on Monday and Dalglish has already lined up the Uruguay international as his replacement.

Coates impressed during his country's victorious Copa America campaign this summer and has since been linked with clubs such as Manchester City and Sao Paolo.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have also been linked with Man City striker Craig Bellamy as the Welsh star finds himself low down in the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium, and has publicly stated his intention to leave.

Liverpool have expressed interest in bringing their former striker Craig Bellamy back to Anfield from Manchester City.

Sunderland, Stoke, Bolton, Everton and Celtic have also shown interest in the 32-year-old who played for Liverpool in 2006-07.

Bellamy has been ostracised by City manager Roberto Mancini and is one of those not allowed to train with the first-team squad.

City would like to get the Welshman off their wage bill and, if agreement is reached, he would be available on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool hope to beat City to 20-year-old Uruguay defender Sebastian Coates, who will cost around £10million.

Jose Manuel Jurado could be on his way out of Schalke before the summer transfer window slams shut as Inter have shown an interest in signing the attacking midfielder, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini revealed on Monday that Inter are a bit short in midfield and the former Genoa tactician allegedly sees the 25-year-old Jurado as a useful addition to his roster.

Jurado joined Schalke from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2010, but the Spaniard has been unable to really live up to the high expectations so far.

The midfielder has a contract until the summer of 2014 with his current club, but the Gelsenkirchen side could be tempted to cash in on Jurado if the price is right.

Inter have yet to formally approach Schalke about Jurado's availability, but they're hopeful of signing the midfielder on a one-year loan deal with an option to buy.

Arsenal are to allow Samir Nasri to remain in London for the club's Champions League play-off tie against Udinese to prevent him being cup-tied for the competition ahead of his potential move to Manchester City, according to The Guardian.

The 24-year-old has just one year left on his contract with the Gunners and has been linked with a move to the Eastlands club throughout the summer.

City boss Roberto Mancini confirmed after the 3-2 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Sunday that he expects to wrap up a deal for the Frenchman, but admitted that it would be a "big problem" if he featured in the north London club's second leg against Udinese.

The former Marseille midfielder told manager Arsene Wenger that he would like to be excluded from the squad, and the boss is thought to have respected the player's wishes.

Arsenal have a 1-0 lead heading into their second leg against Udinese on Wednesday night.

Fulham fail in Chadli bid
Twente warn Premier League club the winger will cost double

FC Twente have dismissed Fulham's offer for Nacer Chadli and have warned it will take double the bid to tempt the club into selling the winger.

Fulham boss Martin Jol is eager to improve his attacking options and has also been checking on Chadli's team-mate Bryan Ruiz.

Reports in Holland have claimed that the Cottagers offered in the region of £4.3million for Chadli, who joined Twente last summer.

However, the Eredivisie club's chairman Joop Munsterman has rejected the bid and says it is only half of Twente's valuation.

Munsterman told Voetbal International: "It is a half offer and for that price we won't be letting him go."

Chadli is a full Belgium international, having made his debut earlier this year and he scored in both of Twente's UEFA Champions League games against Tottenham Hotspur last season.

Skysports.com understands that Barnsley have lined up deals for Manchester United's Danny Drinkwater and Middlesbrough's Cameron Park.

The Tykes are looking to bolster their midfield, and they are closing on deals for the highly-rated duo of Drinkwater and Park.

21-year-old United midfielder Drinkwater already has extensive Football League experience having spent time on loan at Huddersfield, Cardiff and Watford in recent years.

It is believed United have agreed to let Drinkwater move to Oakwell on an initial deal up to Christmas, at which point they would review it.

Boro are also set to allow 19-year-old Park to gain some first-team experience in South Yorkshire, having only made a handful of appearances so far in his fledgling career.

The left winger has been touted as the next big thing on Teesside, following in the footsteps of Stewart Downing and Adam Johnson, and has already been the subject of interest from Liverpool in the last 12 months.

Despite the Premier League interest, Park signed a new long-term deal at Boro in December.

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to table a bid for Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker, according to L'Equipe.

Despite already acquiring the services of Milan Bisevac from Valenciennes to provide more depth in their back-line, general manager Leonardo is keen on securing the services of the Germany international, whose contract is set to expire next summer.

Reports in Germany have suggested that Mertesacker's club want to sell him now in order to avoid the unfavourable situation of letting the 26-year-old walk away for nothing. But that would be going against the wishes of the player, who ideally wants to stay put at the Weserstadion.

The link has also begun to gain momentum since the news that Mamadou Sakho will be out of action for three more weeks, through an injury picked up in PSG's 1-1 draw last weekend with Rennes.

The Parisians have since earned their first win of the season, beating Valenciennes 2-1 at the Parc des Princes on Sunday.

Arsenal consider bid for £26m-rated Lille playmaker Eden Hazard

Lille midfielder Eden Hazard has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal.

The 20-year-old Belgium international is under contract until 2015 with a reported value of £26m.

The Gunners are weighing up a bid for Hazard as they look to replace Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, who is poised to join Manchester City.

Hazard was named Ligue 1 player of the year after Lille's league and cup double last season.

BBC Sport understands Arsenal have been monitoring Hazard closely and could make a move for the player before the transfer window shuts on 31 August.

But the French champions say they will rebuff any offer from the Gunners or any other club.

Lille general manager Frederic Paquet told BBC Sport: "Eden will not be leaving this season.

"We are aware of interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe but we are not prepared to sell.

"He is very happy here, he understands our project and wants to stay for at least another year."

Hazard has scored 23 goals in 123 club appearances and won 20 caps for his country.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen his midfield following the departure of captain Fabregas to Barcelona in a £35m deal.

Nasri is also set to leave the London club for Premier League rivals Manchester City.

The Gunners have begun the season poorly, collecting only one point from their opening two Premier League games.

After drawing at Newcastle on the opening day, they were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

They are also attempting to make the first round proper of the Champions League.

They take a 1-0 lead into Wednesday's critical Champions League qualifying play-off second leg at Udinese.
