Arsenal fail in move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze
The Londoners have been one of a number of leading European clubs whose interest in the 19-year-old has received short shrift from the Bundesliga champions during the transfer window.
Gotze's agent Volker Struth told Goal.com: "Mario will stay at Dortmund, for sure, the next two years. There is no chance of him going to another club this window.
"This is because he is so young and it is too early in his career for him. The club, the player and his family, we are all of one mind that it is better for him to stay there because he is happy at Dortmund."
Struth would not comment on the extent of Arsenal's interest but it is believed their contact with the Bundesliga club did not materialise in a formal offer for a player who is valued at between ?28-?34 million (£25-£30m).
Manchester United have also been strongly linked with the darling of German football, who has already made his mark on the national team by becoming the country's joint-youngest goalscorer earlier this month.
Struth added: "When there is a big club who want Mario, Dortmund have to tell the club that there is no chance. In any case, they will not sell him. In two or three years, who knows? I don't know what will happen then."
Gotze's current contract with the club he first joined as an eight-year-old runs until 2014.
