Agent backtracks on Neymar to Real Madrid confirmation but believes a deal is close

Ernesto Bronzetti has backtracked on claims that Neymar's transfer to the Spanish giants is finalised but believes the move to Jose Mourinho's squad is inevitable

Agent Ernesto Bronzetti has backtracked on claims Santos forward Neymar has signed for Real Madrid on a five-year deal, but says he still believes the move will go ahead.

Bronzetti had told Sky Italia the move was "practically done" and that the Brazilian would be arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu on a five-year contract, but has now said those remarks were hasty.

"I was called by an Italian television station [Sport Mediaset] and they asked me. I told them the only thing I knew was what I had seen on a website, that it was almost done," the agent told SportYou.

Reports in Brazil claim Madrid will pay ?40 million to sign the 19-year-old, who is expected to earn ?2 million per year.

The Brazil forward, who is currently in Montevideo preparing for the first leg of his side's Copa Libertadores final against Uruguayan side Penarol, is expected to return to Santos on loan for six months or even the whole of next season.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid were unavailable for comment.

Official: Dani Parejo joins Valencia from Getafe

Midfielder avoided a return to former club Real Madrid, completing the switch from Getafe to Valencia on a five year deal with the Mestalla outfit

Valencia have successfully completed the signing of Getafe midfielder Dani Parejo with the two clubs agreeing to a transfer fee of ?6 million for the Spaniard.

A statement on Valencia's official website read:

"Valencia and Getafe have come to an agreement over the transfer of the footballer Dani Parejo to our team for five years, until June 30, 2016."

Real Madrid had a buy-back clause for the 22-year-old, who spent four years at the Bernabeu, forcing Valencia to first negotiate with the Copa del Rey Champions.

The capital giants received 30 per cent of the profits as part of the conditions, leaving Getafe with ?4.2m from the sale.

Parejo's attacking prowess will provide some added flair to the Valencia midfield as they search for Champions League success next season.

Mario Santana will join Napoli - agent

Argentine midfielder leaves Fiorentina on free deal to take up his position with the San Paolo outfit as he looks forward to the move, his representative has revealed

Fiorentina winger Mario Santana has agreed to join Napoli on a three-year deal, his agent Marco Piccioli has told Goal.com.

"We have reached an agreement with Napoli for a three-year contract, but before we finalise it the Partenopei need to solve the Jose Sosa situation," Piccioli said.

Santana, 29, joined Fiorentina from Palermo in 2006, but his deal is set to expire at the end of the month.

And with no new contract forthcoming, he will join Walter Mazzarri's side on a free transfer.

"Santana is enthusiastic about the destination, and the fact he will be playing in the Champions League is the icing on the cake."

Roma were also said to be interested in Santana, but nothing materialised, leaving Napoli, who had opened dialogue with him in January, to make their move.

Jeffrey Bruma's agent has confirmed the Chelsea defender is set to join Hamburg on loan.
Former Chelsea sporting director Frank Arnesen had lined up a deal for Bruma after taking up a similar role at Hamburg earlier this summer.
The German giants have agreed a deal to sign Bruma on loan for the next two seasons with Chelsea having the option to recall him in the summer of 2012.

Shearer opens Bluebirds talks

Former England captain favourite for job in Wales

Sky Sports sources understand Alan Shearer is holding talks with Cardiff regarding their managerial vacancy.

The former Newcastle and England striker was installed as favourite for the post by Sky Bet on Tuesday after attracting significant backing.

It is understood that discussions regarding a deal have now begun between the 40-year-old and the Championship outfit.

The Bluebirds are in the market for a new boss after severing ties with former coach Dave Jones at the end of the 2010/11 campaign.

Failure to secure promotion to the Premier League proved to be the final straw for Jones, as he tasted defeat in back-to-back play-off bids.

Contender

Watford boss Malky Mackay was identified as a leading contender for the role at one stage, but has since drifted out of the picture.

Shearer is now believed to be in pole position to take the job, handing him a return to management following a brief spell in charge of Newcastle back in 2009.

He was unable to steer the Magpies clear of relegation out of the top flight on that occasion and has been away from the dug out ever since.

Various clubs are reported to have been interested in his services over the last two years, but Cardiff appear to hold the most appeal to Shearer.

United set to sign £27million Sanchez from under City's noses


Manchester United are ready to seal a £27million deal for Udinese’s Chilean star Alexis Sanchez - under the noses of Manchester City and Barcelona.

United supremo David Gill flew to Barcelona yesterday to meet Udinese’s negotiators who were talking to the Catalans as the auction for the talented attacking midfielder comes to the boil.

And Gill was also spotted in talks with Sanchez’s representatives who have been with Barca - with insiders revealing that the player wants to go to United above all of their rivals.

Sanchez is being bartered around by Udinese, who wanted £30 million but are now under pressure to take less both by United and their South American star’s camp.

United have now gone in hard and official for Sanchez - despite City sending a two-man delegation of Garry Cook and Brian Marwood to Italy over the past few days.

City were hoping to blow all of the other bidders out of the water with an offer, but they have been told again that Sanchez prefers to go to the red half of Manchester.

Boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants Sanchez as his next major capture, a race that sped up when Paul Scholes announced his retirement. United had been watching the exciting Udinese ace but really got serious as that vacancy appeared.

Sanchez is waiting on United and Udinese sorting out the fee. He is in Chile but has been given permission by his national team to fly off and sign for a new club before Copa America begins in July.

The gifted and speedy star wants to go to United as he believes he has a better chance of a game than he would at Barcelona who have been on his trail for weeks.

Barca failed to match Udinese’s asking price - despite offering cash and various player swaps - and they will now switch their search elsewhere with Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas still high on their wish list.

Talks between Alan Shearer and Cardiff City over the managerial vacancy at the Championship club broke down on Tuesday.

The former England captain said: "I can confirm that I was one of the candidates that the club spoke to about the vacant manager's position at Cardiff City. During these talks I was most impressed with the vision, ambition and determination of the owner, Dato Chan Tien Ghee, and the board. Unfortunately those talks were unsuccessful on this occasion. Cardiff City is a great club and I wish them every success next season."

"I'm not naive enough to say I'm not going in unless I can be a Premier League manager, I'm not that stupid. Somewhere along the line you've got to do your apprenticeship. But I'd want half a chance of being successful at it."
