Queens Park Rangers have agreed a fee with Sunderland for the transfer of defender Anton Ferdinand.
Rangers boss Neil Warnock is keen to add to the additions of Joey Barton and Luke Young ahead of the transfer deadline after being given the green light to spend by new owner Tony Fernandes.
After signing 10 players over the summer, including defenders Wes Brown and John O'Shea, Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is keen to offload some of his squad in order to free up space for a striker.
Ferdinand only has a year left on his current contract at the Stadium of Light and no talks have begun over a new deal, meaning Sunderland could be ready to cash in on the former West Ham now rather than let him go for free next summer.
With a fee agreed, the player is reportedly on his way for a medical at Loftus Road where he will also discuss personal terms with the Premier League new boys.
