Utrecht say offer is 'too low' as PSV eye double swoop

FC Utrecht have rejected an initial bid from PSV for Kevin Strootman and Dries Mertens, but technical director Foeke Booy says negotiations are ongoing.

The Eindhoven club are thought to have tabled an offer of around ?10million (£8.9m) to bring both players to the Philips Stadion.

But after Utrecht claimed the bid was too low, PSV might have to settle with just one of the players, according to Foeke.

"I'll be honest, PSV have made a bid for both," Booy told Voetbal International.

"We think the bid is too low and PSV have proposed for just one of them to go, which we will consider."

Defensive midfielder Strootman is regarded as one of the best young players in the Eredivisie after impressing for Utrecht since his January arrival from Sparta Rotterdam.

A number of Premier League clubs, including Fulham, have been linked with a move for the 21-year-old.

Belgian forward Mertens scored 11 goals for Utrecht last season, and is a long-term target of Ajax after a move for his signature fell through in January.

Spanish winger eyes switch to English top-flight

Valencia winger Vicente expects to join a Premier League club on a free transfer this summer and will make a decision on his future in the next few days.

The 29-year-old is out of contract with Valencia at the end of this month after 11 years with the Primera Liga side.

Blackburn, Newcastle and top-flight newcomers Swansea have all been linked with a swoop for the former Spain international.

And Vicente admits he "desires to play in the Premier League" and is close to reaching a deal.

He told Spanish newspaper Superdeporte: "In a few days I will decide my future and it will be in England."

Vicente has notched up almost 250 appearances for Valencia since arriving from boyhood side Levante back in 2000.

Barca close on Sanchez switch
Udinese winger set to complete cash-plus-player deal

Udinese have claimed Alexis Sanchez is on the verge of completing his move to Barcelona.

The Spanish and European champions have edged ahead of the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United in the race for the Chile winger's signature.

Udinese's Spanish representative Quique Pina has been involved with the negotiations and revealed a deal has almost been struck for the 22-year-old.

"Right now Barcelona just have to iron out a few details, but it's practically done," Pina told Cadena COPE.

"It's 80% done and the other 20% is what's to be ironed out."

Jeffren switch

Pina confirmed that the two clubs are set to agree a cash-plus-player deal, with Barca's Spain Under-21 forward Jeffren Suarez thought to be heading to Italy.

"It's a figure close to ?45million (£40m), which is an initial value, including a player and other variables," he added.

Sanchez is currently with Chile's training camp ahead of next month's Copa America and is reported to be leaving the squad to fly to Barcelona on Tuesday for a medical.

Villas-Boas 'quits' Porto

Sky Sports sources understand Andre Villas-Boas has offered his resignation to Porto to clear the way for his move to Chelsea.

Chelsea have targeted the Portuguese to replace Carlo Ancelotti at the helm at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese champions have already confirmed that their coach has a ?15million (£13.2m) release clause.

Porto insist no club has yet met the release clause for Villas-Boas, but it appears the 33-year-old is poised for a switch to Chelsea.

Villas-Boas has now offered his resignation in a bid to speed the move up to England.

Reports in Portugal claim Villas-Boas, who guided Porto to three trophies last season, including the domestic double and the Europa League, is already in London discussing his move to Chelsea.

Chelsea confirmed on Monday that they were close to naming their new manager and it seems Villas-Boas will soon be installed as the club's new boss.

It has also been suggested Villas-Boas could be joined by Porto duo Radamel Falcao and Joao Moutinho at Stamford Bridge with Roman Abramovich ready to fund a move for the pair.

查實我覺得而家既wing 岩岩好...

Nani 射得, Valencia 助攻助守, Park 大賽球員可以移打中路 + 撲得 (唔係指用手), Giggs 可以慢慢退落黎

再加埋 Young 既話, 左右兩邊就搞掂哂 (唔洗好似上半季Nani, Giggs 場場打足無得休息)

park開始老了, 佢自己都話最多過埋呢年, 之後都好難維持喺癲峰狀態.

valencia真係幾好, 夠晒勤力, 如果佢可以展現多少少笑容會更好.

nani屈弱隊機係真係ok

young唔知啦, 唔係話佢唔好, 不過如果去到頂尖level黎講, 我覺得又未到. 打出黎好唔好得過nani, valencia, 都難講....
