Chile's Gonzalo Jara banned for Copa America after Edinson Cavani incident



Chile defender Gonzalo Jara will miss the rest of the Copa America after being suspended for three matches for grabbing Edinson Cavani's bottom.

Television images from Chile's quarter-final against Uruguay showed Jara grabbing Cavani's backside and then appearing to poke it.

Cavani's reaction was to push Jara away, resulting in the Uruguay striker being sent off as he was shown a second yellow card.

CONMEBOL, the governing body of South American football, said in a statement it was suspending Jara for "unsporting behaviour" while also fining the Chilean FA $7,500.

Jara will miss Chile's semi-final clash with Peru on Monday and, depending on the result of that match, either the final or third-place playoff.

He will also be ineligible for Chile's opening match of the qualifying campaign for the 2018 World Cup.

Jara's gesture was the main talking point from the match and has been dubbed 'the finger of God' in Chile, an echo of Argentina captain Diego Maradona's infamous 'hand of God' goal from the 1986 World Cup.

Uruguay had a second player dismissed in the closing stages of the match, prompting a fracas involving most of the players on the pitch, the coaching staff, the match officials and even a touchline cameraman.

Both teams lodged complaints with CONMEBOL. Chile's complaint against the Uruguayans will be dealt with after the Copa.

上周三智利對烏拉圭的美洲盃8強賽事，烏國中鋒卡雲尼因在下半場拍打干沙路查拉（Gonzalo Jara）面部一下，結果「兩黃變一紅」被逐，亦使烏軍最終寡不敵眾下落敗出局。不過，其後從比賽片段所見，查拉原來是始作俑者，他先用手指偷襲卡雲尼臀部，才觸怒對方向其報復，而這個不君子動作，更被斥是性變態行為。

南美洲足協剛發表聲明，查拉因「不君子行為」被罰停賽3場，而智利足總因而被罰7500美元。

查拉的劣行可能令他付出另一代價。有指其所屬的德甲球會緬恩斯，難容忍這種令人厭惡的舉止，球會體育總監希度接受德國《圖片報》訪問時，聲稱若接到其他球會報價，便會出售這位智利國腳。

智利「神之手」 咒卡雲尼老竇踎20年



上星期喺美洲國家盃8強偷襲烏拉圭射手卡雲尼「菊花」的智利「加藤鷹」，原來唔止對卡雲尼出動咗「神之手」，仲咒佢老竇坐20年監，難怪卡雲尼忍唔住出手拍佢塊面而搞到領紅啦！

卡雲尼老竇Luis喺嗰場美洲盃8強賽之前兩日，涉嫌喺烏拉圭國內貨車撞倒一架電單車，19歲電單車司機死亡，Luis就畀警方拘捕咗。一度有消息話卡雲尼可能唔會踢8強，結果佢繼續為國家隊上陣，但相信心情難免點都有影響。
烏拉圭助教列保路其後接受《Radio Hour 25》訪問時就透露︰「查拉同卡雲尼講，話佢老竇今次要坐20年監嚟挑釁佢，對我嚟講呢番說話比起相入面見到更加嚴重。」
查拉咁樣咒卡雲尼老竇，加埋佢出「神之手」的舉動，絕對抵畀南美足協罰停賽三場啦！

智利加藤鷹 可恥

咁佢都唔係一般既賤喎

智利「加藤鷹」干沙路查拉因為8強時對烏拉圭，向卡雲尼「菊花」施襲，故被南美洲足協判停賽三場，但經過智利足總上訴後，獲得緩刑，只需停賽兩場，但依然無緣在於美洲國家盃上陣，只可趕及在世盃外圍賽登場。另外，智利足總被罰款亦獲得遞減，由7,500美元（約58,000港元）減至5,000美元。

Edinson Cavani suspended for two games after strong reaction to Gonzalo Jara's anus poke



Edinson Cavani has been suspended for Uruguay's next two World Cup qualifiers for his part in a confrontation with Chile's Gonzalo Jara at the Copa America.

The controversy arose during the teams' quarter-final clash, when Cavani responded to provocation from Jara by pushing his hand into the former West Brom player's face to earn a second yellow card.

Jara was later banned for three matches after video evidence showed him poking a finger up the Paris St Germain striker's backside. His club, Mainz, responded by placing him on the transfer list.

In a bad-tempered match, the later dismissal of Jorge Fucile sparked a benches-clearing brawl which saw Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez sent to the stands and both he and his assistant Mario Rebollo have been handed three-match touchline bans.

All three will miss the World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Colombia on October 8 and 12, with the coaching duo also missing November's clash with Ecuador.

A statement from South American governing body CONMEBOL read: "CONMEBOL has communicated to the Uruguayan Football Association the decisions of the disciplinary tribunal with regard to the dismissals during the Copa America quarter-finals between Chile and Uruguay.

"Oscar Tabarez and Mario Rebollo have been suspended for three official matches. They will not be able to access the dressing room, tunnel or technical area, nor have any communication with their team before or during the match.

"Edinson Cavani was suspended for two official matches (Bolivia and Colombia) in qualification for Russia 2018."
