Liverpool FC Transfers: Reds keen on signing Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan Liverpool are keen on signing Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Adam Bogdan. The Hungarian is out of contract this summer, and the Reds are keen to bring the 27-year-old to Anfield when it does, as backup to first choice Simon Mignolet. Bogdan has been at Bolton since 2007, but has been second choice behind Andy Lonergan for much of the past season.
He did, however, impress in the Trotters’ FA Cup fourth round tie at Anfield, though having helped his side to a goalless draw, he was then forced to miss the replay due to an ankle injury.
In total, he has made 120 appearances for Wanderers, including 24 in the Premier League. He also has 19 caps for Hungary.
Liverpool are in the market for a new senior ‘keeper, with Brad Jones leaving the club on a free this summer. Third choice Danny Ward, who ended last season on loan at Morecambe, is not seen as a genuine understudy for Mignolet. The Reds have already shown a willingness to dip into the free transfer market this summer, having this week secured a deal for Manchester City midfielder James Milner.
They are also pressing on with plans to sign Burnley striker Danny Ings, with talks ongoing with the England U21 international.
Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne remains a target, although the Reds are yet to up their initial bid of £10m, which was rejected last week.
