Sidibe Back Sooner Than Expected

TONY PULIS has today revealed that Mamady Sidibe could be back in action much sooner than expected following a successful operation on his damaged Achilles tendon.
The Malian international striker underwent surgery in London earlier this week after picking up the long-term injury in Saturday's game against Tottenham Hotspur.
It was originally anticipated that Sidibe would not play again this season, but City are now hopeful that he could be making his comeback before the end of the year.
Pulis revealed this morning: "It looks as though he could be back around Christmas time and that is pretty positive considering what we were hearing after the game.
"It is still a massive blow for the kid because he has not long recovered from a cruciate knee injury, and this has really taken him back again, so we are all feeling for him.
"But he is a great lad and we will all give him a cuddle and stick by him. He is strong and will come through this, but it is a major disappointment for us because he is an important player for us."
Pulis did however, have some positive news on the fitness of both summer signing Kenwyne Jones and Liam Lawrence, who have both missed action through injuries over the past few weeks.
"Kenwyne has an outside chance of featuring at Chelsea, so we will see how he is today and tomorrow," he added. "If he is ready then he will play, but if he isn't we will give him the two-week international break to make sure he is fully right for the Aston Villa game.
"Liam is close as well and he looks as though he may make it for Saturday. He has been training this week and he is feeling ok, so all being well he should be available for the game."
