Hatem Ben Arfa’s troubled tenure in English football seems certain to end in January with reports in France indicating that Hull’s on-loan winger will be leaving the KC Stadium next month.

L’Equipe reports that the Frenchman has returned to his native Paris where he is working with a fitness coach and searching for a new club.

The French sports newspaper reported that Ben Arfa is in negotiations with Hull to release him early from his contract in January and there is understood to be interest in the former Lyon and Marseille player from clubs in Germany, Spain, France and Brazil.

Ben Arfa has made just eight appearances for Hull since joining on loan from Newcastle in the summer and Hull’s manager Steve Bruce this week suggested that the maverick’s spell for the Tigers was coming to end.
“Hatem Ben Arfa – it hasn’t worked just yet,” he said. “The people that we brought in to give us that extra dimension – it hasn’t quite happened yet but we have to give it time.”

Ben Arfa remains a Newcastle player until his contract expires in the summer, but it is unlikely that he will be welcomed back at St James’ Park after falling foul of some senior team-mates and the club’s manager Alan Pardew.

該名27歲翼鋒今季在侯城表現未如理想，但侯城領隊布魯斯今個星期接受訪問時，似乎對賓艾化打算離隊並不知情：「賓艾化仍未產生效果，我們引入的球員可為球隊增添額外作用。這仍未發生，但我們會給予時間加以等待。」周六之前，侯城已在英超8仗不敗，並暫列護級地帶。

On-loan midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa has played his last game for Hull, says City manager Steve Bruce.

Ben Arfa, 27, missed the side's 2-0 defeat by Chelsea on Saturday, with City set to terminate his season-long loan from Newcastle early when the option comes up in January.

Bruce said: "Sometimes transfers don't work, especially with a loan deal."

Meanwhile, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has said Ben Arfa will not be returning to St James' Park.

When asked about Ben Arfa's future at Newcastle, Pardew said: "He won't be coming back here, that's all I can say."

Ben Arfa has played just nine times for Hull since joining the club in September and Bruce said the relationship between the club and player had run its course.

"I'm disappointed more than anything," Bruce told BBC Radio Humberside. "We brought him in on a wave of publicity and there has been no fall-out or slanging match.

"His views of the game are different to mine. At any club you need to have a certain work ethic to get in the team. That's the frustrating thing.

"I hope Hatem takes in what I've had to say to him because his talent is there for all to see. But talent without hard work means you won't live up to your potential.

"Unfortunately, to play for me you have to know you are playing for the team. To be a great you have to be a team player."
