BREAKING NEWS: Huntelaar extends Schalke deal
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has extended his Schalke contract for an additional two years, ending speculation over his future. The Dutch striker's contract at the Veltins Arena was due to run out at the end of 2014-15, but
the Gelsenkirchen club have confirmed that he has put pen to paper on a deal to keep him at the German giants until June 2017.Huntelaar, 31, has been at Schalke since his ?14 million switch from AC Milan in 2010, where he had spent one season after a brief stint with Real Madrid.
The Netherlands international has been fairly prolific for Roberto Di Matteo's men this season, scoring seven goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances.
His three strikes in the Champions League helped Schalke reach the last 16 of the tournament, too, where they will face Huntelaar's former club and reigning European champions Real Madrid.
