Maicon extends Roma deal Brazilian veteran Maicon extended his contract with Roma by a year, with an extra year's option when his new deal expires in June 2016, the club announced. The 33-year-old wing-back, who won the treble of UEFA Champions League, Serie A title and Coppa Italia when he was with Inter Milan in 2010,
joined Roma in 2013 after making just ten appearances for Manchester City.
Maicon, who was a member of the Brazil side humiliated 7-1 by eventual champions Germany in their FIFA World Cup™ semi-final in July, has gone on to become a key player in Rudi Garcia's side.
He impressed as Roma finished runners-up to Juventus last season and also this term where their only defeat in six games came at the hands of the Italian champions in Turin.
A club statement said: "AS Roma is pleased to announce that Maicon Douglas Sisenando has signed a contract extension with the club.
His new deal will run until 30 June 2016 and includes an option for a further season." http://www.fifa.com/world-match-centre/nationalleagues/nationalleague=italy-serie-a-2000000026/news/newsid/245/641/4/index.html
