Cesena pick up Hugo Almeida Cesena have confirmed that they have reached a deal to sign Portugal international striker Hugo Almeida subject to a medical. The 30-year-old free agent has been progressively linked with a move to the Cavallucci Marini since the close of the summer transfer window, in spite of their continued denials.
On from reports at the weekend that a deal was close to being realised and that he would be flying into Italy today, Cesena have now confirmed his imminent capture. The club have reported on their official website that this afternoon an agreement was reached with Hugo Almeida
and that he is currently in the process of completing medical examinations, which will be finished tomorrow.
The former Porto, Werder Bremen and Besiktas forward will be presented to the media on Wednesday.
