Diniyar Bilyaletdinov has completed his move to Spartak Moscow.
The 26-year-old midfielder travelled to the Russian capital earlier this week to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical after the Blues accepted an undisclosed offer for his services.
The move ends Bilyaletdinov’s two-and-a-half year stay at Goodison Park. In that time he made 77 appearances for the Club and scored nine goals.
Probably the highlight of his spell in Blue came in February 2010 when he scored a spectacular goal in a 3-1 win over Manchester United. That stunning strike was later crowned the Club’s goal of the season.
Manager David Moyes paid tribute to the Russian’s work ethic on the eve of his departure, and wished him well for the future.
“He was a great boy to work with, a really good professional,” Moyes told evertonfc.com. “When he played he was totally committed and he did everything he could to succeed. We wish him well. It just didn't quite work and obviously we've decided to sell.
“It happens,” he added. “You could probably ask every manager in the Premier League about players and I can think of some clubs you could ask about a lot of players but, yes, Bily's been in here and not quite reached what we wanted. But I couldn't fault anything that he did – he is a good lad.”
