Schalke's sporting director Horst Heldt has told talkSPORT that he would consider sellingJulian Draxler toManchester United and Arsenal for £60million.

CHELSEA have suffered another blow in their bid to sign German starlet Julian Draxler after Schalke said only a £60m offer could persuade them to sell.

And while Draxler refused to rule out a move in the next year despite signing the new contract, it did give Schalke an increased ability to rebuff any overtures from interested clubs.

Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid are the latest clubs linked with a move for Draxler, while Arsenal and both Manchester clubs are also keeping tabs on the 19-year-old.

But now Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has stated that only a colossal bid could get him to contemplate letting Draxler leave.

Heldt told Bild: "We certainly plan to continue with Julian, but it there is an offer of ?70m (£60m) lands on my desk, what could I say?"

Draxler was critical in helping Schalke qualify for the group stages of the Champions League, with the youngster scoring in an "almost perfect" performance against PAOK Salonika to send the Germans through 4-3 on aggregate.

Speaking earlier this month about his decision to turn down interest from overseas to sign a new contract at Schalke, Draxler said: "It was not an easy decision. You never know whether you will ever get such an offer again.

"In the end, I followed my heart and decided to remain at Schalke."

But Draxler, who came up through the youth ranks at Schalke, also ruled out ever joining arch rivals Dortmund irrespective of how much they offer.

He said: "Unless they brainwash me, I will never join Dortmund."

Arsenal are expected to launch an ambitious bid for Schalke attacking midfielder Julian Draxler.

Speaking to reporters in Germany, Schalke general manger Hotst Heldt intimated the club would be willing to sell the player, but insisted he would not come cheap.
