Diego Lopez is ready to leave Real Madrid this summer because of serious concerns over a lack of regular playing time.

The 32-year-old established himself as coach Carlo Ancelotti's preferred choice for Liga games last season,

only to then lose his place to Iker Casillas during the closing stages of the campaign.

Madrid have had a deal in place to sign Costa Rica international Keylor Navas for several weeks -

a move that will finally be ratified on Monday after president Florentino Perez asked Levante to delay confirmation

until the squad have returned to Spain from their pre-season base in the United States.

After weeks of uncertainty over the goalkeeping situation with three top-level keepers set to be on the books,

Perez led discussions over the issue after joining up with the group this week.

Following talks, club sources now say Lopez is likely to be the man who slips down to third choice in the race to start.

Consequently, he is prepared to leave the Santiago Bernabeu and will consider his options in the days ahead.

Ancelotti has decided that Spain international Casillas will begin the 2014-15 campaign as first choice -

despite his error in last season's Champions League final against Atletico Madrid and a calamitous showing at the World Cup.

The Italian coach has also indicated that he does not want to rotate his goalkeepers as much as he did during the 2013-14 campaign,

meaning Lopez's chances of nailing down a regular berth in the Blancos line-up are even slimmer.

A departure for Lopez would leave new arrival Navas clear to put pressure on Casillas,

who is now set to stay at the club having been linked with a move away earlier in the summer.

Monaco and Napoli have been amongst the clubs credited with an interest in Lopez,

although Madrid are expecting other sides to express an interest after his successful 18-month spell at the club.

The former Villarreal and Sevilla shot stopper still has three years left on his Madrid contract.

Diego Lopez is leaving Real Madrid.
The goalkeeper has been informed as such, and must now look for a way out for when the team returns from its tour of the USA.
Both Napoli and Monaco are interested in the player's shot-stopping services,
although the player's plans were to stay on at Real and compete for a place between the sticks.
The arrival of Keylor Navas and Carlo's backing of Iker Casillas for the coming season have pushed Diego Lopez towards the club's exit door.
Real Madrid are seriously thinking about paying the player all monies owed stipulated on his contract and allowing him to sign for any club that he wishes.
All at the Bernabeu are grateful for the keeper's work done and professionalism and for this reason will do everything to make his leaving as painless as possible.
In a meeting last Wednesday, Real gave the keeper's agent until Monday to find a way out for the player.
Time is running short, as Keylor Navas will not be presented until Lopez has left.
The club wants to unveil their new signing this Monday and start him training.
Monaco are the big favourites to sign the player, but close behind are Napoli and Chelsea.
If Mourinho's club manage to pass Cech on to PSG, they will come gunning for the Spaniard.

Real Madrid decide Diego Lopez has to go
The keeper wants his pay-off and will decide where to go after the end of the US tour. Casillas is likely to start in the UEFA Super Cup.

Three keepers. One problem. One has to leave. Madrid have made up their minds and are pushing Diego Lopez out of the door, to make room for Keylor Navas.
Lopez, keeper for the league matches last season, is aware the club no longer have him in their plans
and wants to pick up his pay-off for an early termination of his contract (he still has three years left at Real Madrid,
and would expect to receive around 12 million euros), before looking for a club when he returns from the US (Monaco and Napoli are interested).

With everything indicating that Ancelotti would have a relaxed, happy pre-season, after winning the Decima,
he suddenly found himself once again facing a heated debate over the goalkeeper’s position, after the club decided to sign Keylor Navas,
a stand-out performer for Levante last season and one of this summer’s World Cup stars.
“For me, the goalkeeping position isn’t a problem”, Ancelotti has said over the past few days.

The Italian coach doesn’t lie in his press conferences, and has soically avoided the subject of Keylor Navas.
In his training camp in Ann Arbor he has Casillas and Diego Lopez, with 11 days to go before the start of the season.
But the club has taken the decision to do without Diego Lopez.
For his part the keeper was keen to continue with Madrid, but if he isn’t wanted then he doesn’t want to stay.

The next few days are going to be intense for Diego Lopez. The Spanish keeper does not want to leave Real Madrid with the way things stand at the moment.
There are two reasons making him take this stance.
On the one hand, there is the U-turn which the club is thought to have made on its promise to pay him for two of the three years left on his contract.
What was once thought to be certain is less so now.
According to the initial agreement with the club, the keeper would receive around ?7 million before tax (around ?3.5 million net) on his departure.
However, this may have changed and Real Madrid are now understood to only be willing to offer him a free transfer.
The second reason has to do with his destination. The player's preferred option was Monaco.
He would have joined the French club as the first-choice keeper.
However the personal terms offered by Monaco did not convince either the player or his agent.
The only thing that we can assure for the time being is that Diego Lopez is not looking to leave 'Los Blancos'
unless there is a radical change in the terms for his departure over the coming hours or days.
