Swansea City's board is considering the position of manager Garry Monk amid the club's recent poor form.
Senior board members are concerned by the Swans' run of one win in 10 matches, with the Welsh club lying 14th in the Premier League after Saturday's 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
Assistant manager Pep Clotet could also leave, as he is on the shortlist to become Brentford's new boss.
Monk, 36, took charge in February 2014 following Michael Laudrup's departure.
Following his permanent appointment in May 2014, Monk guided Swansea to their highest Premier League finish of eighth place last season.
Despite a strong start to this campaign, the Swans have won only once since beating Manchester United in August.
That barren spell prompted speculation that Monk was facing the sack, which the former Swansea captain dismissed as the "agenda" of people outside the club.
The draw with Bournemouth, however, has intensified the scrutiny on his future, with boos heard at the Liberty Stadium as the Swans fell 2-0 behind.
Captain Ashley Williams threw his support behind Monk after the game, adding that the players should have been voicing their support more publicly.
As well as being concerned by recent results, Monk is believed to have been dismayed by his assistant Clotet's reported discussions with Brentford.
The Spaniard is on the Championship club's shortlist to be their next permanent manager, and he is thought to be considering taking Swansea first-team coach James Beattie with him to Griffin Park.
Clotet was appointed Swansea's assistant manager in February 2014, while former Southampton and Stoke striker Beattie joined the club in June 2015.

Garry Monk was fighting to save his job after Swansea’s rotten run of results continued with a home thrashing against Leicester on Saturday.
He was still at the Liberty Stadium with his staff a full two hours after the demolition, which means Swansea have now won only one Premier League game in their past 11.
Swansea’s board have grave concerns about the woeful form and Monk admitted the club ‘deserve better than we are giving them’ after the 3-0 defeat.
It follows open talks with the players over the past week about ways in which Swansea could improve. But after those failed to get a reaction against Leicester, Monk said his future was ‘out of his hands’.
He added: ‘It is very frustrating and it is hard to put a finger on it. We were extremely poor, the results are not acceptable for the players, myself or the fans. The club deserve better than what we are giving them.
We had shown signs of progress, I had open and honest talks with the players and we had a better performance against Liverpool (a 1-0 defeat last weekend), but then we followed that up with this result.
‘I will work as hard as I can, I will continue to do so until I am told not to. No-one knows the club better than me and I have tried to instil the principles and values of the club into the players and how we play but things are not good enough at the moment.
‘I believe I am the man to turn things around but it is out of my hands.’

Garry Monk's future as Swansea boss is increasingly uncertain, but BBC Wales Sport understands David Moyes does not want the role if it becomes available.
Monk's position has been in doubt with the Swans winning only one of their last 11 Premier League games.
Saturday's 3-0 defeat by Leicester left Swansea a point above the drop zone.
Moyes, 52, was sacked by Real Sociedad in November and is believed to be waiting for the right opportunity to return to management.
Having enjoyed a successful 11-year tenure at Everton, the Scot lasted less than a season at Manchester United before moving to Spain in November 2014.
Swansea have yet to decide on the future of Monk, who succeeded Michael Laudrup in February 2014, initially on a temporary basis.
The 36-year-old led the Swans to eighth place last season, their highest Premier League finish in his first full campaign.
This season has been startlingly different, however, and Swansea's defeat by Leicester was their seventh in 11 league fixtures with a trip to Manchester City due next Saturday.
Monk said in November he has the "full backing" of chairman Huw Jenkins, while captain Ashley Williams has voiced his support for the former Swans skipper.
But recent results have caused concern, prompting the Swansea board to consider Monk's position.
