Everton insist no deal has yet been agreed with AC Milan over Gerard DeulofeuItalians have said Spain under-21 international will spend rest of the season at the San Siro
Everton insist no deal has yet been agreed for Gerard Deulofeu - despite AC Milan announcing they had signed the winger on loan until the end of the season.Milan declared this evening on their official Twitter account that the Spanish winger would spend the rest of the campaign at the San Siro.
However, Blues officials are understood to be furious at the announcement and are adamant they are yet to reach an agreement with the Serie A side.
Milan later deleted the tweet indicating Deulofeu had signed.Negotiations have been ongoing for the past 10 days between the two clubs, with Everton having already rejected one loan bid by Milan.
A deal, though, is still likely with Milan keen on the 22-year-old, who has fallen down the pecking order at Goodison.Speaking earlier this week, Ronald Koeman had said he would allow Deulofeu to depart during this month's transfer window.
“I spoke to Gerard and it's a difficult situation for the player,” said Koeman. “If he finds a solution to go and get game-time then it's no problem.
“But the final decision will be down to the board.”
Deulofeu impressed at Everton during a season on loan from Barcelona in 2013-14 before arriving on a permanent deal for £4.3million in the summer of 2015 after a year at Sevilla.
However, the Catalan has made only five starts under Koeman this season and played just one half of first-team football since the 3-2 defeat at Watford on December 10.
