Campbell misses Premiership trip to Birmingham City

Sol Campbell will miss the trip to Birmingham on Saturday.
The England centre back, who left Highbury after being substituted at half time against West Ham last night, was given a day off from training today and will be omitted from the side for St Andrews at the weekend.
Arsenal’s injury list is lengthy, see below. On the upside Francesc Fabregas and Jose Antonio Reyes are back from suspension while Emmanuel Adebayor is available after Togo’s elimination from the African Nations Cup. However the problems at the back remain.
Arsenal started the West Ham game with six defenders out and then lost Campbell and Kerrea Gilbert (back) by the start of the second half. Neither will return at the weekend and, as he spoke to the Club’s official website, the manager was awaiting test results that would determine whether Lauren will play again this season.
“Sol Campbell won’t play. I don’t think Gilbert will be ready so there is not a lot of choose from,” said Wenger in an exclusive video interview with Arsenal TV Online.
“We don’t have any defenders coming back and the Ivory Coast play on Saturday.
“I don’t know what I’ll do about it at the moment, I must think. Do I put Gilberto there or keep Flamini at the back, I don’t know.
“However Adebayor could be involved and I may rest some players who have been involved in two hard games recently.”
The full interview will available for Arsenal TV Online subscribers on Friday morning. In it, Wenger discusses the following topics: the defeat to West Ham, how he faces criticism, the defensive problems, Martin Keown’s return to the Club, the departures of Quincy and David Bentley, Birmingham’s revival and the arrival of Chris Sutton.
