1241: Robert Conrad, who lives in Niigata, in central Japan, writes: "TV drama has now replaced the days of disaster footage on every channel. No-one is thinking of the worst-case scenario except the expats. Japan needs more access to foreign media".

1405: Ben Underwood, in Kanagawa, writes: "Here in Yokohama, people are worried about the rolling power cuts that are taking place and the area in the north that was stricken by the earthquake. It is only foreign people, stoked by the media and now knee-jerk reaction international embassys, that are starting to panic and flee. If we leave, how long shall we stay for? That all costs. It's all very well for my embassy, the British Embassy, to say we should leave, but it's not cheap. Unless we are directly affected, the FOC will charge us £600 to go to Hong Kong so as not to undercut the commercial airlines. Well thanks!"

1415: More from Ben Underwood: "The FCO's sober assessment yesterday [Wednesday] telling us there was no danger from radiation hitting Tokyo or below was replaced today by a suggestion to leave. Instead of turning away rescue teams who want to help in Sendai and ripping off nationals who want to return home, why not give practical adivce that doesn't break the bank?"

One Chinese woman told the BBC: "My family called from my hometown and said they'd looked for salt like crazy and couldn't get any. I was so surprised. I said: 'But isn't there loads of salt around?' and they said, 'No, because of the explosion in Japan'. I saw we had no salt, so I ran down to the supermarket, and people had already snatched it all up, there was none there either."

1512: Professor Gerry Thomas, the director of the Chernobyl tissue bank from Imperial College London, says too much emphasis is being put on the nuclear issue. "I think we're getting an accurate picture as far as the radiological alarm is concerned. What concerns me most is that we're actually focusing on the wrong disaster. The real disaster is the tsunami and the number of people who've lost their lives that way. We're focusing on a disaster that isn't a disaster."

這位先生真的說出了很多日本人的心聲,更難得的他的背景...

用直升機都要距離開輻射點保持安全距離,用747如何保持距離且準確灑水?

1533: The BBC's health correspondent Fergus Walsh says that there is alot that we still don't know, but that what is clear is that the risks beyond the exclusion zone are very small indeed. Even in the worst case scenario, even if there was a meltdown, he says the risk would not extend beyond the exclusion zone. This is not another Chernobyl, he says.

這位專家講野聽起來蠻有責任感的。

依家日本那裡要沿用helicopter water-bombing的策略

他們認為這對降溫有幫助。

1542: Claudio Amorim, in Salvador, Brazil, writes: "It is easy to criticise Japanese authorities harshly from a distance. Would any other government fare better in face of such a catastrophe? I doubt it! Japanese people deserve less verbosity and more solidarity. "

1544: Simon, in Tokyo, writes: "I have decided to get out of Tokyo with my family and will leave in the next day or so due to not really knowing that is going on - information coming in dribs and drabs and info varying so much from different sources it's driving people crazy. I feel bad that so many people are working in the danger zone to fix this terrible situation and I am running away after this country has been my home for 21 years, but I must make sure my children are safe. One thing that really upset me today is I called British Airways to book a flight having last week got a regular email from them on "Fly to London for 65,000 Yen" and the sales guy on the phone saying he was so sorry that the flight cost now was 10 times that! 700,000 yen! You want to leave Japan but can't afford to go home cause your own country's airline in this awful situation is charging 10 times regular fares!! But good old ANA (All Nippon Airways) still has flights at just over the regular fare for this time of year so again thank you Japan for being there!"

好諷刺!

1546: Gian, in Torino, writes: "I live in Italy, but my (Japanese) wife is in Japan and pregnant and could not travel. I believe what is happening is a terrible environmental crisis and there might be people who will never be able to see their homes again (if the worst case scenario comes true), but the situation is safe away from the area of the nuclear plant: yesterday the Italian relief agency tested for radiation on the roof of the Italian embassy in Tokyo, and they got a reading which is actually lower than the usual reading in Rome (where no nuclear power plants exist). This kind of news gets rapidly filtered out of the stream of sensationalist overdramatisation. I also think that this sensationalist coverage by most news outlets has been extremely stressing to every relative and friend of people now in Japan. I wonder, once we come to numbers, if there will be more cancer deaths due to radiation exposure at Fukushima, or due to increased smoking by worried and overstressed relatives of people who are really actually quite safe."

又是另一個炮轟媒體炒作,導致人心惶惶的日本女婿、意大利人。
