Mijatovic: Madrid Will Have A Quiet SummerPredrag Mijatovic has reiterated that Real Madrid will have a quiet summer in the transfer market in a bid to quell growing speculation of another end-of-season spree.
Los Merengues' sporting director deflected criticism of coach Bernd Schuster yesterday and was then forced to repeat his comments from last month that the club have no plans to bring in a host of new players.
Media speculation has been rife with the latest name linked to the Bernabéu being Villarreal's Uruguayan defender Martin Cáceres, but Mijatovic was insistent that the club are in for a peaceful summer.
"It is inevitable for the media to start speculating about players we may sign. We can't fight against that," he said. "We don't know where their information comes from.
"This summer will be much more relaxed than last year's. We will sign very few players because we currently have a great team. We may have to make some minor tweaks here and there."
Mijatovic has been criticised for some of his statements before and after games, but accepts that as part of his high profile position within Madrid and it is not something that worries him.
"I will always be criticised when things don't happen as we hoped they would," he continued. "I am calm and trust my staff. We are working hard to achieve important things.
"Criticism will always be there and I accept it. I don't have a problem with it."
