Sky Sports sources understand that Queens Park Rangers have agreed a fee with Manchester City for Nedum Onuoha.

QPR have been chasing the Nigerian-born defender for much of the window and are already believed to have held talks with his representatives.

A host of clubs have expressed an interest with Bolton, Wolves, Everton and West Brom all understood to be keen.

But new QPR boss Mark Hughes is anxious for reinforcements and is now pushing for a deal to be concluded.

QPR will now look to finalise personal terms with the 25-year-old, who had been frozen out of the first-team picture at the Etihad Stadium.

In recent weeks, Onuoha has been involved again with Roberto Mancini's squad and even came on during their Premier League win at Wigan on Monday.

Villarreal are the latest club to show interest in Tottenham's £8million-rated midfielder Giovani Dos Santos.

The Mexican has attracted interest from Wigan, Bolton and Sevilla but all clubs have fallen short of Tottenham's valuation.

However, a deal with Villarreal could prove attractive as Tottenham maintain an interest in their striker Giuseppe Rossi who is out injured until the summer with ligament damage.

Tottenham are giving a trial to 17-year-old Croatian defender Eduard Husinec, 17, of Hrvatski Dragovoljac.

EXCLUSIVE: Birmingham want Gardner back

Birmingham have asked Sunderland to loan “homesick” Craig Gardner back to them.

The Brummie midfielder joined the Black Cats for £4.7million in June after bagging 10 goals for his local club last season.

But Gardner has not settled in the north-east, and Sunderland's new manager Martin O’Neill has admitted the 25-year-old is missing his Midlands-based family.

This week, Championship promotion chasers City asked the Wearsiders to send Gardner back 'home' to St Andrew's.

The Black Cats refused, but, with Gardner on the fringe of the Sunderland side, Blues boss Chris Hughton has not given up hope.

Hughton said: “When the window closes, there will be some Premier League clubs that have players who are not getting regular games who will be surplus for whatever period.

“We still have that open to us. Maybe a month on a short loan.”

West Brom and Aston Villa, where Gardner played before joining Birmingham, are also keen, but do not have the money yet to buy him outright.
