Christian Eriksen ‘likely to sign for Liverpool or Roma’



After missing out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool are set to do battle with Roma over Christian Eriksen.
The young Ajax star has said that if offers were to come in that interested him, he would be ready to accept a new challenge.
Reports in Denmark, the player’s homeland, state that if he were to move during this transfer window, it will be to either Liverpool or to Serie A with Roma.
Roma, who are reportedly tracking Arsenal forward Gervinho recently, are looking to Eriksen to replace Daniele De Rossi who has been linked with Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain recently.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been looking to infuse his squad with fresh, young, attacking talent and Eriksen certainly fits the bill.
Having played 109 times for Ajax since 2010 and scoring 23 goals, the 21-year-old has developed a reputation as one of the most exciting young players in Europe, and a move to a bigger club is certainly close to materialising.

Christian Eriksen free to join Liverpool, says Ajax boss Frank de Boer




Liverpool have been given encouragement in their pursuit of Christian Eriksen by Ajax manager Frank de Boer.
The Reds are believed to be hot on the heels of the Danish playmaker, and although De Boer expressed his desire to keep the 21-year-old, the Ajax boss says he won’t stand in Eriksen’s way should he decide to move to Anfield.
‘It is up to Christian what he wants,’ said De Boer. ‘If he feels good going to ¬Liverpool anyway, then it is up to him.
‘If ¬Liverpool go back to really good possession play, it can be a success for Christian. But it does mean that their entire way of playing has to change.
‘I would want nothing more than having him with us for a few more years.
‘But we realise the interest in this kind of player is huge. And I can also understand that he wants to make another step in his career. I can’t stop him.’
Roma are also believed to be keen on Eriksen, who would cost in the region of £15million.

Christian Eriksen number 1 transfer target for Liverpool



Liverpool's transfer plans for the summer could get a whole lot more ambitious as Brendan Rodgersreportedly plans to bring Denmark international midfielder to Anfield from Dutch championship winning side Ajax Amsterdam.
Christian Eriksen has long been linked with a move to one of Europe's biggest sides. The creative midfielder scored 13 goals in 45 games for the Dutch side last year. What has attracted many teams to the Dane is his excellent range of passing whilst he also is able to score plenty of goals from the heart of midfield and in Europe he also proved he was able to perform against the best teams.

Juventus, Man Utd and Bayern Munich have all been linked with Eriksen in recent months, but Liverpool's failure to secure a deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan has seenBrendan Rodgers look elsewhere for a new creative midfielder.

The 21-year-old will cost a reported 24 million Euros.

Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen rejects move to Bayer Leverkusen




Christian Eriksen has rejected a move to the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, the Ajax midfielder's agent has confirmed.
Leverkusen were keen to recruit the Denmark midfielder, widely regarded as one of the best young players in Europe, but saw their advances rebuffed.
The Bundesliga side were reportedly willing to offer Eriksen a lucrative contract but the 21-year-old is adamant he will only leave the Amsterdam ArenA for a club at which his sporting ambitions can be met.
His agent Martin Schoots told Voetbal International: "Christian will only leave Ajax on sporting grounds, that's his main criteria."
Zenit St Petersburg have also tried without success to lure Eriksen to Russia while Liverpool are also rumoured to be interested.

AJAX boss Frank de Boer has revealed the club have already drawn up a list of who should replace Liverpool target Christian Eriksen.


Christian Eriksen looks set to leave Ajax this termThe 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, having only one year remaining on his contract with the famous Dutch side.
And De Boer is preparing to for life without the creative midfielder, revealing he will have to look within the team's existing crop of players.
He said: "It is not possible for us to replace Eriksen by buying a player of similar quality," De Boer told De Telegraaf.


Brendan Rodgers is said to be keen to sign Eriksen before the start of the season"So it is better for us to look to replace him from within and I am thinking about people like Lasse Schone, Davy Klaassen, Thulani Serero and [Riechedly] Bazoer."
He spoke last month about Eriksen's future, adding: "It is not possible for us to replace Eriksen by buying a player of similar quality.

Eriksen made 33 appearances in the Eredivisie for Ajax, scoring a total of ten times.
