Fabio and Zaha set for Cardiff

Manchester United duo Fabio and Wilfried Zaha are poised to complete moves to Cardiff City.

Manager David Moyes confirmed the deals are in the pipeline after Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed the Brazilian is already training with his new club

while the finishing touches to a loan switch for Zaha are being discussed in the next 24 hours.

Neither player will be eligible to feature in Tuesday's Barclays Premier League fixture between the clubs.

"We're delighted for Fabio because he has been a great servant," explained Moyes to MUTV. "His brother is doing a great job for us here as well.

"We wish him well. He had one or two options but, in the end, we felt we couldn't get him enough games.

I said to the players, if you feel I'm not getting you enough games, come and see me. Fabio felt that so he's got a move to Cardiff.

"With Wilfried Zaha, I'd said to him during the summer that we wanted to get him games. If he played, then great, but if he couldn't, we'd get him out on loan.
We had one or two offers for him but just felt Cardiff, at this moment in time, might be the right club. With Ole going there as well,
he knows how the club works here and exactly what we do with the players so hopefully it will be a good move for Wilf."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes midweek conquerors Manchester United will agree to loan Wilfried Zaha to Cardiff City.

Former Old Trafford favourite Solskjaer was back in familiar territory on Tuesday as he saw his rock-bottom Bluebirds

slip to a 2-0 Premier League defeat at the hands of the reigning champions.

Finding a way out of their current predicament is the challenge facing the Welsh outfit, and fresh faces will undoubtedly aid their cause.

Solskjaer has been able to complete a number of deals, with Kenwyne Jones the latest arrival from Stoke City, but he hopes there will be more to come.

His strong ties to United could work in his favour as he endeavours to win the race for Zaha's signature,

and the Norwegian is confident the tricky winger will soon be added to his ranks.

He told Sky Sports on his transfer plans heading into deadline day on Friday:

"Hopefully we will get Wilf on loan signed from this place, then we're looking good.

"He's got that urgency in the last third - pace, power, he will bring that along with Kenwyne in the final third.

They are players who will add something to what we've already got, because we have got some great players here.

I'm really looking forward to the next game."

Wilfried Zaha has joined Cardiff on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season

Cardiff have completed their sixth January signing, bringing in Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha on loan for the rest of the season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had already boosted his squad with the addition of Fabio, Kenwyne Jones, Magnus Wolff Eikrem, Mats Moller Daehli and Jo Inge Berget since succeeding Malky Mackay as Bluebirds boss.

Zaha, 21, is the most high profile of his acquisitions, although it has taken longer to conclude the deal than had been expected.

Solskjaer said: "That signing should be done by now. His name is on the paperwork. He is a Cardiff player.

"He has pace, power, technical ability and goes past people. He will give us that extra change of tempo in the final third, where we really need it.

"He will bring that little final bit to find pockets of space and produce a bit of magic."

Wilfried Zaha has joined Cardiff on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season.

The England U21 has found first-team chances difficult to come by since David Moyes's arrival and Solskjaer said:

But the Norwegian does not believe Zaha has anything to prove, despite his limited opportunities since moving to Old Trafford from Crystal Palace.

"I don't think he has something to prove, he wants to play," said the former Red Devils striker.

"He played a few games at United, but maybe not what he hoped for when he went there.

"He wants to play, to play with confidence and keep Cardiff in the Premier League."

Solskjaer also confirmed striker Andreas Cornelius, signed for £8million by Mackay last summer, is in talks over a return to FC Copenhagen.

He said: "Andreas is speaking to Copenhagen, it is not 100 per cent done yet. We will confirm when it happens.

"He has had a hard time, he came here with big potential, he is a young kid and young kids are not the ones you expect to carry a team. He is a young man who will play lot of good football in his career."
