Tottenham midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson set to join Swansea



Tottenham midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has flown back from the club's pre-season training camp in Seattle ahead of a potential move to Swansea.
The 24-year-old could have a medical on Tuesday as part of a straight swap for Swansea's Wales full-back Ben Davies.
Goalkeeper Michel Vorm could follow Davies to White Hart Lane in a separate deal, which concerns former Wales international Mickey Thomas.

Transfer news: Michel Vorm agrees terms with Spurs



Swansea keeper Michel Vorm has agreed personal terms with Tottenham, with Gylfi Sigurdsson set to move the other way, according to Sky sources.

Dutchman Vorm’s future at Swansea looked to be in doubt when Lukasz Fabianski joined the club from Arsenal, insisting he had moved for first-team football.

Vorm joined Swansea from Utrecht in August 2011 and made 97 appearances in all competitions.

If his move to north London is completed, he will compete with France international Hugo Lloris to become first choice keeper.

Gylfi Sigurdsson set to join Swansea

Sigurdsson joined Swansea on loan from Hoffenheim in the second half of the 2011-2012 season and was a big hit, scoring seven goals in 17 Premier League matches.


He will undergo his medical on Tuesday.

He joined Spurs from Hoffenheim in a £6.8million move in July 2012, and has been in and out of the Spurs first-team picture since.

Swansea full-back Ben Davies is also set to swap the Liberty Stadium for White Hart Lane.


He has passed a medical, according to Sky sources, and could complete a £10million deal by the end of the week.

Vorm confirms Tottenham switch



Swansea City's Michel Vorm has confirmed he is set to join Tottenham and says he is relishing the chance to compete with Hugo Lloris for the No.1 jersey.

"Every club has two top goalkeepers in their squad," the Dutch keeper told De Telegraaf.

"It suits the club's philosophy that there are two of us with Hugo and me. Especially when we see that Tottenham is active in a lot of competitions."

Davies joins us on a five-year contract, while Vorm has signed a four-year deal with the Club.
The transfers will also see Gylfi Sigurdsson return to the Welsh club where he spent time on loan in 2012 and we wish him well for the future.
Left back Davies earned his first professional contract with Swansea in 2011
and has gone on to excel in their First Team, winning their Young Player of the Year accolade the past two seasons.
His impressive club form has also earned him 10 caps for Wales and he made a total of 91 appearances for the Swans,
including starting their League Cup Final win against Bradford City in 2013.

Dutch goalkeeper Vorm moved to the Liberty Stadium in August 2011 and firmly established himself as first choice in their debut season in the Premier League,
which saw him pick up Supporters' Player of the Year, Players' Player and the Away Player awards at their end of season awards.
In total, he made 97 appearances for Swansea and was also part of the Netherlands' World Cup squad this summer in Brazil.
