Victor Valdes refused to play for reserves and has no future at Manchester United, says Louis van Gaal



Louis van Gaal has revealed Victor Valdes is finished at Manchester United because of his poor attitude.

Valdes was axed from the squad for United's pre-season tour of America, prompting speculation about the Spaniard's future.

Van Gaal confirmed Valdes has no future at United and revealed the 32-year-old refused to play for United's reserves last season.

"He is not selected because he does not follow our philosophy," said Van Gaal.

"There is no place for one player [who does not do do that].

"The philosophy is how you play football and how you maintain your match rhythm.

"For example, he refsued last season to play in the second team. That's also one aspect of our philosophy but there are a lot of other aspects of how you have to play in our philosophy in Manchester United.

"When you are not willing to follow the principles of the philosophy, then there is only one way - and that is out."

Asked if he was selling Valdes, Van Gaal replied: "Yes. For us it is a big disappointment because we thought he woukd follow our philosophy.

"It's a pity because we have given him the opportunity to rehabilitate and also gave a contract to him of course.

"Then he is fit to play. But when you are not playing in the first selection, then then you must play in the second selection. Every player has to do that and he refused to do that."

Former Barcelona keeper Valdes, who was given his debut by Van Gaal in 2002 when the Dutchman was in charge at the Nou Camp, signed an 18-month contract with United in January.

But the 33-year-old is now looking for a new club, despite the uncertainty that still surrounds the future of United No.1 David De Gea, who is set to join Real Madrid this summer.

Victor Valdes' representatives are in talks with Valencia over a move to the Mestalla club, reports Marca.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, who left the goalkeeper out of his squad for his side’s US tour, has put the Spaniard up for sale.

Valencia are desperately seeking an experienced goalkeeper as their No.1 Diego Alves is sidelined with a serious knee injury.

However, the two parties have not yet struck an agreement over financial terms or the length of the contract.

Valdes wants a two-year deal, while Valencia would rather offer him a one-year contract with the option for a second year based on his performances.

Los Che have other goalkeepers on their shortlist, namely PSG’s Salvatore Sirigu and Sporting Lisbon’s Rui Patricio, if they are unable to reach an agreement with Valdes.

Besiktas search for an agreement with Victor Valdes: possible deal within the next hour

Besiktas are close to agreeing a deal to sign goalkeeper Victor Valdes from Manchester United with an official announcement possibly within the next hour.
Its reported that the final contract details are being put in place before the deal is finalised.
After just two appearances in the Premier League Victor Valdes is set to join Besiktas.

Victor Valdes: Manchester United keeper's Besiktas move off

Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes's proposed transfer to Turkish side Besiktas has collapsed.

A source close to Valdes said Besiktas attempted to change the terms of an agreed deal and the 33-year-old has now backed out of the move.

The Spain international has no future at Old Trafford after falling out with manager Louis van Gaal.

The transfer window in England and Scotland closes on Tuesday, but it is Monday in most European countries.

Ex-Barcelona player Valdes signed an 18-month deal with the Premier League side in January, but was not given a squad number for this season after Van Gaal claimed he refused to play in an Under-21 game.

Meanwhile, there has still been no bid from Spanish giants Real Madrid for David De Gea.

The La Liga club have been heavily linked with a move for the 24-year-old Spain international this summer, but are reluctant to meet United's demand of a world-record fee for a keeper.

Van Gaal says he will not pick the 24-year-old until the transfer window has closed.

The most ever paid for a goalkeeper is the £32.6m Juventus spent to sign Gianluigi Buffon from Parma in 2001.

Besiktas pull plug on Victor Valdes deal as Spanish goalkeeper's Manchester United nightmare continues

• Victor Valdes had been offered a two-year deal at Besiktas
• The Turkish club have now decided to end their interest in Valdes
• The 33-year-old has endured a torrid time at Manchester United

Victor Valdes' proposed move to Besiktas is off after the club's manager Senol Gunes decided to pull the plug on the deal.
Talks have been ongoing since last week with a deal close to agreement and the Manchester United goalkeeper poised to fly to Turkey on Sunday.
However, Gunes has decided he does not wish to change his goalkeeper and has brought a halt to negotiations.  
Valdes' terms were understood to be an obstacle for Besiktas' budget and they tried to change terms on the initial agreement.
The 33-year-old still has other offers to consider.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are still to make a bid for David de Gea. The Spanish window closes at 23.59 tomorrow.
The Turkish side had offered the Spaniard a two-year contract with the option of a third year as the Spaniard seeks to put an end.
The 33-year-old was training at United's Carrington training centre on Tuesday along with David de Gea.
