Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes fellow Swede Victor Lindelof has the talent to shine for the world's top teams amid growing speculation the Benfica defender is set to join him at Manchester United in January.

"He (Lindelof) is growing. He has a lot of responsibility with the national team now," said Ibrahimovic.

"Is he good enough for United? I think he is ready for the big clubs out there. It is up to him what he wants and what the situation says. Whatever he chooses, it will be good for him,"

葡萄牙傳媒披露，22歲超新星連迪路夫（Victor Lindelof）即將同賓菲加延長合同，毀約金升至5000萬歐元，看來3800萬歐元轉會費不足以完成交易。

瑞典後衛連迪路夫身高1.87米，聯賽累積上陣30場，被視為摩連奴覬覦已久的獵物，有傳1月加盟紅魔，賓菲加考慮到合約附帶條款列明，其瑞典母會可從下一次轉會中收取20%費用，因此臨時決定提升毀約金。

聖誕假期期間，連迪路夫在瑞典家中度過，假期結束後將返回賓菲加報到。事實上，該名小將已萌生去意，皆因紅魔出價5.8萬鎊周薪，足足是其目前薪酬3500鎊的16倍，根本沒有拒絕的理由。

That is despite the Swede believing a January transfer window deal was close .

It is understood United have made no formal bid for the 22-year-old - with fears Benfica are attempting to inflate the valuation of the player and create an 'auction' by luring in other potential buyers.

Reports in Portugal claimed Lindelof would become United's most expensive defender with a fee of between £38m and £42m, despite only playing 30 senior games for the Primeira Liga club.

But it is understood Reds manager Jose Mourinho is happy with his personnel in central defence, where Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo have formed a solid partnership despite early concerns that they might not be up to the task.

The pair have become an impressive unit together during the Reds' recent resurgence and further options are available in the form of Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind.

And despite the fact that Bailly is set to be involved in the African Cup of Nations for up to a month from mid-January, Mourinho is now in no rush to add to his defensive ranks.

According to RTP , Lindelof was set to wear the No.2 shirt that has been vacant since Rafael departed for Lyon in 2015.

And he was was pictured signing a United shirt while on holiday in Vasteras.

But Lindelof's former club Vesteras have said they are awaiting an outstanding payment of ?250,000 after Lindelof made 10 senior starts in the Primeira Liga and for Benfica.

The Swedish side has submitted a formal complaint to Fifa’s players’ status committee and that is now said to holding up the 22-year-old's protracted move.

And United are believed to be cautious about becoming involved in an auction for the centre-back with limited senior experience, with Italian giants Inter Milan and AC Milan also linked with him.

Manchester United will not make a move for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof during the January transfer window.

United manager Jose Mourinho was reported to be interested in the 22-year-old Sweden centre-back.

However, BBC Sport understands the form of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo in central defence has persuaded manager Jose Mourinho he does not need to buy.

The Portuguese also has cover at centre-back in Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind.

Reports from Portugal had claimed Lindelof would become the club's most expensive all-time defender, costing between £38m and £42m, and that he had been assigned a squad number at Old Trafford,

Since Jones and Rojo were paired together for the first time in the 3-1 win against Swansea on 6 November, United are unbeaten for 11 games, one short of equalling their best run since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

Jones and Rojo have been in central defence together for nine of those matches, when they have conceded seven goals.

【now.com體育】賓菲加中堅連迪路夫被剔出葡萄牙盃大軍名單，消息一出變相提高了1月轉戰英超投效曼聯的可信性。

曼聯領隊摩連奴一直覓尋另一中堅人選以穩固後防線，盛傳賓菲加新上位的瑞典中堅連迪路夫（Victor Lindelof）成為摩佬羅致目標。該22歲中堅周四晚被球會確認剔出參戰葡萄牙盃，可以想像賓菲加已計劃將其變賣才會有此決定。

據葡萄牙當地報章《O Jogo》指出，賓菲加上周與連迪路夫展開續約，主要原因是希望把合約附加條件「買斷費」提升至5000萬鎊或以上，惜談判最後拉倒。該報估計曼聯要花上約4200萬鎊的轉會金額才可買下心頭好，而連迪路夫的母會韋斯特羅斯將可獲得轉會費中20%的利潤。

連迪路夫於2011年以6萬鎊由韋斯特羅斯轉投賓菲加，可擔任中堅及右閘的他，本年開始晉升為瑞典國腳，並有份隨隊征戰歐國盃。
