Burnley will try to force through a deal for Norwich winger Robbie Brady before the deadline after missing out on Robert Snodgrass when he joined West Ham from Hull City.
The Clarets also remain hopeful they can sign Andrew Robertson from Hull after lodging a £10m bid for the young left-back.
And manager Sean Dyche could turn to Sheffield Wednesday midfielder David Jones as cover for the injured Dean Marney. Jones spent three years at Turf Moor before joining Wednesday last summer, and may be a loan option.

SAMI MOKBEL: Martin Caceres is expected at Crystal Palace for a medical today.
The 29-year-old is a free agent after leaving Juventus last summer, which means he does not have to sign before tonight’s deadline.
Nonetheless, Palace want a quick conclusion to this deal.
