Definitely some fault from
Benitez. Gerrard wasn't given much chance playing down his center midfield position in the first place. But I say
Gerrard wasn't in his sharpest form in the 1st half of the season. Even he's not playing at his best position, he played so many times as right midfielder for the club and the country. He cannot just blame because he's not at his favourite position and he's not performing.
A stable formation helped in recent results, and the improvement in Gerrard and Alonso also helped.
It's still early in the season, I really don't rule out the title race from
Liverpool yet. Most of the rough away games have been played. We are yet to face Chelsea, ManUtd and Arsenal at HOME in the 2nd round. And still got the chance to revenge to Everton and Bolton at HOME. Hope Benitez already learnt a bit more about consistency and stay with his best team. So many years ManUtd was not the top team during Christmas but ended up finishing first. 13 points is a lot but we do have the right squad that can challenge the title, compared to previous years. It's not game over yet, really, not game over yet.
