VILLA SET TO LOSE ASHLEY YOUNG

Aston Villa are resigned to losing Ashley Young to Manchester United but the deal may not be finalised until after the winger's wedding this weekend, Press Association Sport understands.

Villa are expected to double the £9 million they paid Watford for Young four-and-a-half years ago.

United and Villa have been in talks to try and complete a deal for the England player.

But it is understood the finer points have still to be thrashed out and that may mean the transfer not going through until after Young has tied the knot in his native Hertfordshire on Saturday.

Young indicated after England's Euro 2012 qualifier with Switzerland on Saturday that he wants to play Champions League football.

He has only 12 months left of his current deal at Villa.

Villa - and the then manager Gerard Houllier - had been braced for the possibility of losing Young after he shelved talks about any possible new contract.

His departure follows on from the loss of other leading players in Gareth Barry and James Milner to Manchester City.

Of more concern to Villa - in addition to appointing a new manager - is trying to ensure they keep hold of their other star winger in Stewart Downing.

He has two years left of his contract but has also shelved talks of a new deal and has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Stuttgart's Serdar Tasci attracts interest from Tottenham and Malaga - report

The German international looks set to leave the Bundesliga this summer with Harry Redknapp's men and Malaga the latest clubs interested in his services

Tottenham Hotspur and Malaga are the latest clubs to show an interest in Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci, according to a report in Bild.

The German international is believed to be close to a summer exit, with Juventus and Zenit St Petersburg also being linked with the player.

Tasci is likely to cost any potential suitor up to ?14 million as the player has another three years left to run on his current contract.

Reports emerging from Germany state Spurs and Malaga have been in contact with the player's advisor Uli Ferber, who has refused to comment on speculation.

"I do not want to comment on new links every week," Ferber told Bild.

Harry Redknapp is looking to strengthen his squad during the summer as the club look to push for a Champions League spot next season, after narrowly missing out last campaign.

Ambitious Malaga have received a huge cash injection from new investors and are reported to have between ?60-70m to spend.

Tasci endured an indifferent campaign last season, making just 26 Bundesliga appearances as Stuttgart battled against relegation.

Lyon's Jeremy Toulalan keen on move to Malaga - report

Toulalan has reportedly responded positively to interest from the Spanish side, and has asked his representatives to open negotiations

Jeremy Toulalan is reportedly interested in a move from Lyon to suitors Malaga, according to reports from France.

The ambitious Spanish side have openly admitted to being interested in acquiring the midfielder, as they look to strengthen their squad for an assault on the European positions in the 2011-12 season.

L'Equipe comments that the 27-year-old has travelled to Andalucia, and was suitably impressed by the set-up at the club that he asked his representatives to commence negotiations over a transfer.

Claude Puel's side have slapped a ?15 million fee on the midfielder, but the side from La Rosaleda are unwilling to meet this valuation, and believe the player to be worth closer to ?10m.

The French media source indicate, however, that Les Gones president Jean Michel Aulas may be eager to cash in on the Nantes-born player as the end of the financial year approaches, and so a compromise could be reached.

Malaga have already secured the signing of Ruud van Nistelrooy so far this summer, and have also been linked with an approach for Marseille's classy midfielder Lucho Gonzalez.
