The Whites eliminated Murcia, Levante, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla to clinch a date with Barcelona

Real Madrid and Barcelona will lock horns in the Copa del Rey final on 20 April in an attempt to win the first trophy of the season. To get to this point, the Whites worked their way through Murcia, Levante, Atletico and Madrid and Sevilla.
Round of 32: Murcia
The first leg of the tie took place at the Nueva Condomina, where the match ended in a 0-0 draw. The return was a completely different story, as Real Madrid easily took care of business 5-1 with goals by Granero, Higuain, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and Xabi Alonso.
Last 16: Levante
One match was all the Whites really needed after winning the first leg 8-0 in the Santiago Bernabeu, with hat-tricks by both Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. With a virtually impossible task of turning things around in the second leg, Levante came out on top 2-0.
Quarterfinals: Atletico Madrid
Real Madrid did not disappoint in the quarterfinal derby by winning both matchs. In the first, they managed to overcome an early goal by Forlan to cruise to the 3-1 win. One week later, Cristiano Ronaldo scored on 23' to seal the tie.
Semifinals: Sevilla
Up against the reigning champions, Real Madrid travelled to Sevilla for the first leg and left the Sanchez Pizjuan with an important 0-1 win in tow. The second leg was held on 2 February and saw the Whites clinch a berth in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona with a 2-0 victory; goals courtesy of Ozil and Adebayor.
