Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor says Jose Reyes should "just go" after making it clear he wants to move to Real Madrid.
The Togo international says the Spaniard is showing a lack of respect by talking about other clubs while still an Arsenal player, and wants the Gunners to move on without him.
Reyes finally looks set to leave the club for Madrid, and Adebayor has made it clear that he will shed no tears at his departure.
"The most important thing in life is family, I understand that," Adebayor is quoted in The Sun.
"But he is an Arsenal player and should not be talking about other teams. Maybe he should just go so we can all move on.
"Jose looks happy in training. He laughs and jokes and gets on well with the other players.
"But I think his family don't like England and that's why he wants to leave. Maybe his family have put pressure on him but in that case he should go because we don't need unhappy players bringing down our spirit."
Adebayor has also claimed that Arsenal will not be weakened by the likely exit of Ashley Cole to Chelsea.
He said: "If Ashley goes to Chelsea, it would make them stronger. But I don't think it will make us any weaker.
"We have lots of quality young players ready to take over. I trust Arsene Wenger and the quality of the squad."
