Charlton complete Carson loan deal
Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson has joined Charlton on loan until the end of the season after the Addicks missed out on Robert Green.
The move means Liverpool now have two England squad goalkeepers on loan at other Premiership clubs, with Chris Kirkland at Wigan.
The 20-year-old Carson, who was in England's World Cup squad this summer, is expected to compete for a first-team place at The Valley.
Carson is currently in the England Under-21 squad for Tuesday's clash against Moldova, while Kirkland is in the senior squad for their friendly with Greece on Wednesday.
Reds boss Rafael Benitez arrived at Anfield in 2004 and signed Jose Reina a year later, with Jerzy Dudek becoming his second-choice goalkeeper.
Benitez also completed the signing of highly-rated David Martin from MK Dons in January, with the youngster now set to offer cover for Reina and Dudek.
The Addicks' move for Carson comes after they missed out on their first-choice target Robert Green, who looks to be on his way to West Ham.
