佢因為有個膝傷舊患，係史篤城過唔到體測，史篤城係最後關頭拉倒唔簽佢。跟住係紐卡素都係過唔到體測，不過見佢唔駛錢，所以就開左張人工要附加出場既合約俾佢，好似係 2萬鎊底薪再加2萬鎊出場費，即係如果因為傷出唔到場的話，人工只要俾一半既縮數。既然你開份咁既約俾佢又無簽字費，BA 既 agent 就自然為佢爭取一個 7-7.5m 既 release clause，當中仲要有 2m 係 BA 自己袋。

之後見佢個傷無咩事，紐卡素已經多次想同佢簽過張新約，六萬鎊週薪，而取消個 release clause。不過紐卡素就死都唔肯出果 2m 既簽字費，所以多次傾唔掂數。再加上佢既 agents 獅子大開口，除左 BA 既簽字費，額外仲要求多 2m agent's fee。呢個亦係其他球會例如阿仙奴始終唔肯 trigger 佢既 release clause 既原因。所以今次車仔簽佢，個總價錢應該唔止 7m，因為仲有大約 1-2m 既 agent's fee 要俾。

Transfer latest: Chelsea agree deal with Newcastle striker Demba Ba

The Senegal international is undergoing a medical with Rafa Benitez's side after a release clause was triggered in his Newcastle contract once Chelseaoffered £7million for him.

Ba was left out of the Magpies' squad for their 2-1 home defeat to Everton on Wednesday, with manager Alan Pardew admitting afterwards that he was on his way to Stamford Bridge.

A deal between the Premier League rivals appears close to being finalised, with Benitez keen to add to his attacking options to ease the burden on Fernando Torres.

Ba joined Newcastle on a free transfer from West Ham in June 2011 and after impressing last season he has already scored 13 goals this campaign.

"It's done. He will go to Chelsea with our blessing," Pardew told Sky Sports ahead of their defeat by Everton.

"He has done fantastic for us and it's not a bad thing, all the uncertainty is now done and we can move on.

"The ball was always in Demba's court. But this club is bigger than any player for sure."

Chelsea officials held initial discussions with Ba's representatives earlier this week but had been unable to reach an agreement.

Newcastle released a statement which read: "Newcastle United can confirm Chelsea Football Club has made an official offer for Demba Ba which has triggered the release clause in the player's contract.

"The club has given the player permission to speak to Chelsea FC and therefore he will not be included in the squad for tonight's game with Everton."

Chelsea recall Benayoun from West Ham


LONDON (Reuters) – Chelsea have recalled Israeli midfielder Yossi Benayoun from his loan spell at fellow London club West Ham United after the European champions suffered a shock 1-0 defeat by the Premier League’s bottom side Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday.


"Yossi Benayoun has completed his loan spell at West Ham United and returns to Chelsea today," the club said in a statement on their website (www.chelseafc.com) on Thursday.


Benayoun, who last played for West Ham on November 11 due to knee trouble, has scored once for Chelsea in 11 appearances since he joined from Liverpool in 2010.






Journeyman Benayoun heads back to Chelsea after injury-hit loan spell at West Ham end


Yossi Benayoun has returned to Chelsea after his miserable loan spell with West Ham ended.



The Chelsea midfielder's loan spell at Upton Park was hampered by injury and he only appeared in six games for the club.



West Ham commented on Twitter, saying: 'West Ham United can confirm that the loan of @YossiBenayoun15 has ended and he has returned to @chelseafc.




'The club would like to thank Yossi for his efforts during his second spell with the Hammers and wish him the best of luck for his future career.'



Benayoun is expected to speak to Blues interim boss Rafael Benitez in the next few days as he looks to resolve his future.


A fan favourite at West Ham during his time there between 2005-07, he moved to Liverpool under Benitez, where he was also well liked.


Chelsea signed him in 2010 but he barely featured for the side, playing just eleven times and spending time on loan to Arsenal before returning to West Ham.

Joe Cole: West Ham set to sign Liverpool midfielder by Friday

Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole is expected to complete his move to West Ham in time for Saturday's FA Cup tie with Manchester United at Upton Park.

The 31-year-old will undergo a medical on Thursday and is set to rejoin his former club on an 18-month contract.

Cole, whose move comes after on-loan midfielder Yossi Benayoun returned to Chelsea, must be registered by 12:00 GMT on Friday to face the Red Devils.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said: "It will be a terrific move for Joe."

Cole has struggled to impress at Anfield following a free transfer move from Chelsea in 2010.

The former England international spent last season on loan at French club Lille.

Any move to West Ham would have to be permanent because the London club already have one Liverpool player on loan - striker Andy Carroll - and are prevented from adding a second.

Cole, though, would be available on a free transfer as Liverpool are prepared to cancel his contract and negotiate a settlement.

Talking on Wednesday, Rodgers added: "I spoke to Joe earlier. He is a really good lad and has been brilliant during my time here."

The player came through the youth ranks at Upton Park before moving to Chelsea for £6.6m in 2003.

He won three Premier League titles and two FA Cups in a seven-year stay with the Blues.

After failing to agree a new contract he moved to Merseyside but has not been able to enjoy the same impact and has made only six substitute appearances this season.

News of Cole's potential move comes after Liverpool signed forward Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea.

QPR have also been linked with Cole, but manager Harry Redknapp told BBC Radio 5 live he was resigned to missing out.

"I love Joe," he said. "I signed him when he was 11 years old at West Ham and I spoke to him. He was keen to come and he is a great lad.

"He would be great around the place - he is a great player - but West Ham came in at the last moment and it was difficult because West Ham is his club and you will always associate Joe with them.

"That is where he started out. The fans will love having him back there and I wish him all the best because he is a fantastic boy."
