The Milwaukee Bucks traded forward Ersan Ilyasova to the Detroit Pistons, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
The acquisition of Ilyasova will give the Pistons a strong complement to center Andre Drummond, largely because of his ability to stretch out onto the perimeter and make jump shots.
The Pistons are preparing for the fact that they could well lose Greg Monroe as an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Detroit sent forward Caron Butler and Shawne Williams to Milwaukee in the trade. Those two players have non-guaranteed deals that will probably be waived, clearing significant salary cap space for the Bucks. Milwaukee could have as much as $22 million in cap space this summer.
Ilyasova, 28, averaged 11.5 points and 4.8 rebounds for the Bucks a year ago. At 6-foot-10, he has the ability to stretch out and make shots on the perimeter.
Ilyasova has $7.9 million owed to him in 2014-15, and a team option for $8.4 million in 2015-16.
